It is made lawful for you to go unto your wives (in sexual relations) on the night of the fast. They are a garment for you and you are a garment for them. Allah knows that you acted unfaithfully to (betrayed) your souls, so He accepted your repentance and pardoned you. Therefore you may now approach them intimately and seek what Allah has ordained for you. Eat and drink until the white thread becomes distinct from the black thread of the dawn, then complete the fast till nightfall. And do not approach them if you are in I’tikâf (confining oneself in a mosque for prayers and invocations leaving the worldly activities) in the mosques. These are the limits of Allah, so do not go near them (the limits). Thus does Allah make clear His Verses (Signs) for men that they may become the pious. (187)
2/Al-Baqarah-188: Va lea ta’kuloo amvealakum baynakum bil beatılı va tudloo bihea ilal hukkeami li ta’kuloo fareekaan min amvealin neasi bil ismi va antum taa’lamoon(taa’lamoona).
Do not eat up one another’s property among yourselves by false means (unjustly) nor give bribery to the judges so that you may knowingly eat up a part of the property of others sinfully. (188)
2/Al-Baqarah-189: Yas’aloonaka aanil ahillah(ahillati), kul hiya maveakeetu lin neasi val haacc(haaccı), va laysal birru bi an ta’tool buyoota min zuhoorihea va leakinnal birra manittakea, va’tool buyoota min abveabihea, vattakoolleaha laaallakum tuflihoon(tuflihoona).
They ask you about the crescent moons. Say: “These are signs to mark fixed periods of time and the pilgrimage for mankind”. And it is not Al-Birr (righteous deed that makes one worthy of Paradise) that you enter the houses from their backs (as they used to during the period of Ignorance) but Al-Birr is what makes one pious (the owner of piety, “takvâ”) So enter the houses through their proper doors, and become pious. (189)
2/Al-Baqarah-190: Va keatiloo fee sabeelilleahillazeena yukeatiloonakum va lea taa’tadoo innaalleaha lea yuhıbbul mu’tadeen(mu’tadeena).
And fight (kill) in the Way of Allah with those who fight with you (kill you) and do not exceed the limits, surely Allah does not love those who exceed the limits (the transgressors). (190)
