Surah At-Tur

Bismillaah ir rahmaan ir raheem

وَالطُّورِ ﴿١﴾
52/At-Tur-1: Vat toori.
By the Mount Tur (Sinai). (1)
وَكِتَابٍ مَّسْطُورٍ ﴿٢﴾
52/At-Tur-2: Va kiteabin mastoorin.
And the Book written line by line. (2)
فِي رَقٍّ مَّنشُورٍ ﴿٣﴾
52/At-Tur-3: Fee raakkın manshoorin.
(Which) in it (in that book) the writings are spread in pages. (3)
وَالْبَيْتِ الْمَعْمُورِ ﴿٤﴾
52/At-Tur-4: Val baytil maa’moori.
And by Al-Baitul Ma’mûr (the House that is built up). (4)
وَالسَّقْفِ الْمَرْفُوعِ ﴿٥﴾
52/At-Tur-5: Vas saakfil marfooi.
By the elevated ceiling (the ceiling of the earth). (5)
وَالْبَحْرِ الْمَسْجُورِ ﴿٦﴾
52/At-Tur-6: Val baahril mascoori.
By the full sea. (6)
إِنَّ عَذَابَ رَبِّكَ لَوَاقِعٌ ﴿٧﴾
52/At-Tur-7: Inna aazeaba raabbika la veakı’un.
Most surely the Torment of your Lord will take place. (7)
مَا لَهُ مِن دَافِعٍ ﴿٨﴾
52/At-Tur-8: Mea lahu min deafiin.
There is none to avert it (the torment). (8)
يَوْمَ تَمُورُ السَّمَاء مَوْرًا ﴿٩﴾
52/At-Tur-9: Yavma tamoorus sameau mavran.
On that Day the sky shakes with a dreadful swaying. (9)
وَتَسِيرُ الْجِبَالُ سَيْرًا ﴿١٠﴾
52/At-Tur-10: Va taseerul cibealu sayrea(sayran).
And the mountains walk (move) in movement. (10)
فَوَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلْمُكَذِّبِينَ ﴿١١﴾
52/At-Tur-11: Fa vaylun yavma izin lil mukazzibeena.
Then woe on the Day (of Permission) to the deniers (beliers). (11)
الَّذِينَ هُمْ فِي خَوْضٍ يَلْعَبُونَ ﴿١٢﴾
52/At-Tur-12: Allazeena hum fee haavdın yal’aaboon(yal’aaboona).
They are those who keep themselves busy with unnecessary tasks. (12)
يَوْمَ يُدَعُّونَ إِلَى نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ دَعًّا ﴿١٣﴾
52/At-Tur-13: Yavma yuda’oona ilea neari cahannama da’ea(da’aan).
That Day they shall be thrown in to the Fire being dragged. (13)
هَذِهِ النَّارُ الَّتِي كُنتُم بِهَا تُكَذِّبُونَ ﴿١٤﴾
أَفَسِحْرٌ هَذَا أَمْ أَنتُمْ لَا تُبْصِرُونَ ﴿١٥﴾
52/At-Tur-15: A fa sihrun heazea am antum lea tubsiroon(tubsiroona).
Is this a magic? Or is it you that do not see? (15)
اصْلَوْهَا فَاصْبِرُوا أَوْ لَا تَصْبِرُوا سَوَاء عَلَيْكُمْ إِنَّمَا تُجْزَوْنَ مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ ﴿١٦﴾
52/At-Tur-16: Islavhea faasbiroo av lea taasbiroo saveaun aalaykum, innamea tuczavna mea kuntum taa’maloon(taa’maloona).
Prop yourselves against it (Fire). Now whether you are patient or impatient, it is all the same for you. You only get punished for what you used to do. (16)
إِنَّ الْمُتَّقِينَ فِي جَنَّاتٍ وَنَعِيمٍ ﴿١٧﴾
52/At-Tur-17: Innal muttakeena fee canneatin va naaeemin.
Surely the owners of piety (Takwâ) are in heavens and blessings. (17)
فَاكِهِينَ بِمَا آتَاهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ وَوَقَاهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ عَذَابَ الْجَحِيمِ ﴿١٨﴾
52/At-Tur-18: Feakiheena bi mea eateahum raabbuhum, va vakeahum raabbuhum aazeabal caaheem(caaheemi).
Joyous with what their Lord has given them and their Lord saved them from the Torment of the blazing Fire (hell). (18)
كُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا هَنِيئًا بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ ﴿١٩﴾
52/At-Tur-19: Kuloo vashraboo haneean bi mea kuntum taa’maloona.
Eat and drink pleasantly because of what you used to do. (19)
مُتَّكِئِينَ عَلَى سُرُرٍ مَّصْفُوفَةٍ وَزَوَّجْنَاهُم بِحُورٍ عِينٍ ﴿٢٠﴾
52/At-Tur-20: Muttakieena aalea sururin maasfoofah(maasfoofatin), va zavvacneahum bi hoorin eenin.
(The owners of piety are) the ones reclined on thrones lined up and We married them to Hûrin (ladies of heaven) with beautiful eyes. (20)
وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَاتَّبَعَتْهُمْ ذُرِّيَّتُهُم بِإِيمَانٍ أَلْحَقْنَا بِهِمْ ذُرِّيَّتَهُمْ وَمَا أَلَتْنَاهُم مِّنْ عَمَلِهِم مِّن شَيْءٍ كُلُّ امْرِئٍ بِمَا كَسَبَ رَهِينٌ ﴿٢١﴾
52/At-Tur-21: Vallazeena eamanoo vattabaaathum zurriyyatuhum bi eemeanin alhaaknea bihim zurriyyatahum va mea alatneahum min aamalihim min shay’in, kullumriin bi mea kasaba raheenun.
And those who believed (by wishing to reach Allah while they are alive, before death) and whose offspring depended on them in Faith; We joined their offspring to them. And We did not decrease any of their deeds. Every person is a pledge for what he has earned (in degrees). (21)
وَأَمْدَدْنَاهُم بِفَاكِهَةٍ وَلَحْمٍ مِّمَّا يَشْتَهُونَ ﴿٢٢﴾
52/At-Tur-22: Va amdadneahum bi feakihatin va laahmin mimmea yashtahoon(yashtahoona).
And We gave them (with) fruit and meat they desired. (22)
يَتَنَازَعُونَ فِيهَا كَأْسًا لَّا لَغْوٌ فِيهَا وَلَا تَأْثِيمٌ ﴿٢٣﴾
52/At-Tur-23: Yataneazaoona feehea ka’san lea laagvun feehea va lea ta’seemun.
They raise a cup therein where they do not say anything in vain nor commit any sin (due to wine they consume). (23)
وَيَطُوفُ عَلَيْهِمْ غِلْمَانٌ لَّهُمْ كَأَنَّهُمْ لُؤْلُؤٌ مَّكْنُونٌ ﴿٢٤﴾
52/At-Tur-24: Va yatoofu aalayhim gılmeanun lahum ka annahum loo’luun maknoonun.
And around them (young boys) serving. They are like hidden pearl in its nacre. (24)
وَأَقْبَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَى بَعْضٍ يَتَسَاءلُونَ ﴿٢٥﴾
قَالُوا إِنَّا كُنَّا قَبْلُ فِي أَهْلِنَا مُشْفِقِينَ ﴿٢٦﴾
52/At-Tur-26: Kealoo innea kunnea kaablu fee ahlinea mushfikeen(mushfikeena).
They said: “Surely we feared before along with our family”. (26)
فَمَنَّ اللَّهُ عَلَيْنَا وَوَقَانَا عَذَابَ السَّمُومِ ﴿٢٧﴾
52/At-Tur-27: Fa mannaalleahu aalaynea va vakeanea aazeabas samoom(samoomi).
Now, Allah Blessed us and saved us from the torment of the scorching heat (of Hell). (27)
إِنَّا كُنَّا مِن قَبْلُ نَدْعُوهُ إِنَّهُ هُوَ الْبَرُّ الرَّحِيمُ ﴿٢٨﴾
52/At-Tur-28: Innea kunnea min kaablu nad’ooh(nad’oohu), innahu huval barrur raaheem(raaheemu).
Surely we were calling upon Him (Allah) before. Surely He is Berr (The Most Courteous, the Most Generous), the Most Merciful (the One Who manifests Himself with His Name of Most Merciful). (28)
فَذَكِّرْ فَمَا أَنتَ بِنِعْمَتِ رَبِّكَ بِكَاهِنٍ وَلَا مَجْنُونٍ ﴿٢٩﴾
52/At-Tur-29: Fa zakkir fa mea anta bi ni’mati raabbika bi keahinin va lea macnoon(macnoonin).
Therefore remind (give advice), because by the Blessing of your Lord, you are neither an oracle nor a madman. (29)
أَمْ يَقُولُونَ شَاعِرٌ نَّتَرَبَّصُ بِهِ رَيْبَ الْمَنُونِ ﴿٣٠﴾
52/At-Tur-30: Am yakooloona sheairun nataraabbasu bihee raybal manooni.
Or do they say: “He is a poet; we wait for him the sudden coming of the calamity of the time”. (30)
قُلْ تَرَبَّصُوا فَإِنِّي مَعَكُم مِّنَ الْمُتَرَبِّصِينَ ﴿٣١﴾
52/At-Tur-31: Kul taraabbasoo fa innee maaakum minal mutaraabbiseen(mutaraabbiseena).
Say: “Watch, I am too with you of those who watch”. (31)
أَمْ تَأْمُرُهُمْ أَحْلَامُهُم بِهَذَا أَمْ هُمْ قَوْمٌ طَاغُونَ ﴿٣٢﴾
52/At-Tur-32: Am ta’muruhum aahleamuhum bi heazea am hum kaavmun teagoon(teagoona).
Or do their minds command them this? Or are they an inordinate people? (32)
أَمْ يَقُولُونَ تَقَوَّلَهُ بَل لَّا يُؤْمِنُونَ ﴿٣٣﴾
52/At-Tur-33: Am yakooloona takaavvalah(takaavvalahu), bal lea yoo’minoon(yoo’minoona).
Or do they say: “He has forged and said it by himself”? Nay, they do not believe. (33)
فَلْيَأْتُوا بِحَدِيثٍ مِّثْلِهِ إِن كَانُوا صَادِقِينَ ﴿٣٤﴾
52/At-Tur-34: Fal ya’too bi haadeesin mislihee in keanoo seadikeen(seadikeena).
Then let them bring a speech (verse of the Quran) like it, if they are truthful. (34)
أَمْ خُلِقُوا مِنْ غَيْرِ شَيْءٍ أَمْ هُمُ الْخَالِقُونَ ﴿٣٥﴾
52/At-Tur-35: Am hulikoo min gaayri shay'in am humul healikoon(healikoona).
Or were they created without there being anything (without any Creator)? Or are they themselves the creators? (35)
أَمْ خَلَقُوا السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ بَل لَّا يُوقِنُونَ ﴿٣٦﴾
52/At-Tur-36: Am haalaakoos sameaveati val aard(aardaa), bal lea yookınoon(yookınoona).
Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Nay, they can have no certainty (closeness) to Allah. (36)
أَمْ عِندَهُمْ خَزَائِنُ رَبِّكَ أَمْ هُمُ الْمُصَيْطِرُونَ ﴿٣٧﴾
52/At-Tur-37: Am indahum haazeainu raabbika am humul musaaytıroon(musaaytıroona).
Or are the treasures of your Lord next to them? Or do they have them? (37)
أَمْ لَهُمْ سُلَّمٌ يَسْتَمِعُونَ فِيهِ فَلْيَأْتِ مُسْتَمِعُهُم بِسُلْطَانٍ مُّبِينٍ ﴿٣٨﴾
52/At-Tur-38: Am lahum sullamun yastamioona feehee, fal ya’ti mustamiuhum bi sulteanin mubeen(mubeenin).
Or have they ladders to listen to (the conversations) there? Then let the listeners bring a clear proof. (38)
أَمْ لَهُ الْبَنَاتُ وَلَكُمُ الْبَنُونَ ﴿٣٩﴾
52/At-Tur-39: Am lahul baneatu va la kumul banoon(banoona).
Or are the girls His and the boys yours? (39)
أَمْ تَسْأَلُهُمْ أَجْرًا فَهُم مِّن مَّغْرَمٍ مُّثْقَلُونَ ﴿٤٠﴾
52/At-Tur-40: Am tas’aluhum acran fa hum min maagramin muskaaloon(muskaaloona).
Or do you ask them for a wage? So that they are overburdened by a debt! (40)
أَمْ عِندَهُمُ الْغَيْبُ فَهُمْ يَكْتُبُونَ ﴿٤١﴾
52/At-Tur-41: Am indahumul gaaybu fa hum yaktuboon(yaktuboona).
Or that the Unseen is with them, and they write it down? (41)
أَمْ يُرِيدُونَ كَيْدًا فَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا هُمُ الْمَكِيدُونَ ﴿٤٢﴾
52/At-Tur-42: Am yureedoona kaydea(kaydan), fallazeena kafaroo humul makeedoon(makeedoona).
Or do they intend a plot? But those who disbelieve are themselves who will be in plot. (42)
أَمْ لَهُمْ إِلَهٌ غَيْرُ اللَّهِ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ ﴿٤٣﴾
52/At-Tur-43: Am lahum ileahun gaayrulleah(gaayrulleahi), subheanaalleahi aammea yushrikoon(yushrikoona).
Or do have they deities other than Allah? Glory be to Allah from what they associate with Him! (43)
وَإِن يَرَوْا كِسْفًا مِّنَ السَّمَاء سَاقِطًا يَقُولُوا سَحَابٌ مَّرْكُومٌ ﴿٤٤﴾
52/At-Tur-44: Va in yarav kisfan minas sameai seakıtaan yakooloo saheabun markoom(markoomun).
And if they were to see a piece of the sky falling down, they would say: “Piled up clouds”. (44)
فَذَرْهُمْ حَتَّى يُلَاقُوا يَوْمَهُمُ الَّذِي فِيهِ يُصْعَقُونَ ﴿٤٥﴾
52/At-Tur-45: Fa zarhum haattea yuleakoo yavmahumullazee feehee yus’aakoona.
Leave them then till they meet the Day of theirs wherein they shall ruin. (45)
يَوْمَ لَا يُغْنِي عَنْهُمْ كَيْدُهُمْ شَيْئًا وَلَا هُمْ يُنصَرُونَ ﴿٤٦﴾
52/At-Tur-46: Yavma lea yugnee aanhum kayduhum shay’an va lea hum yunsaaroon(yunsaaroona).
On that Day their plotting shall not avail them at all nor will they be helped. (46)
وَإِنَّ لِلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا عَذَابًا دُونَ ذَلِكَ وَلَكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ ﴿٤٧﴾
52/At-Tur-47: Va inna lillazeena zaalamoo aazeaban doona zealika va leakinna aksarahum lea yaa’lamoon(yaa’lamoona).
And surely, for those who do wrong, there is another torment besides this, but most of them do not know. (47)
وَاصْبِرْ لِحُكْمِ رَبِّكَ فَإِنَّكَ بِأَعْيُنِنَا وَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ حِينَ تَقُومُ ﴿٤٨﴾
52/At-Tur-48: Vaasbir li hukmi raabbika fa innaka bi aa’yuninea, va sabbih bi haamdi raabbika heena takoomu.
So be patient with the Judgment of your Lord. Because certainly you are before Our Eyes. And glorify your Lord with praise when you get up. (48)
وَمِنَ اللَّيْلِ فَسَبِّحْهُ وَإِدْبَارَ النُّجُومِ ﴿٤٩﴾
52/At-Tur-49: Va minal layli fa sabbihhu va idbearan nucoomi.
And in the part of night glorify Him and also at the setting of the stars. (49)
