Surah Al-Ahzab

Bismillaah ir rahmaan ir raheem

33/Al-Ahzab-1: Yea ayyuhan nabiyyuttakilleaha va lea tutıil keafireena val muneafikeen(muneafikeena), innaalleaha keana aaleeman haakeemea(haakeeman).
O Prophet! Be the owner of piety towards Allah and do not obey the disbelievers and the hypocrites! Surely Allah is Ever All-Knowing, All-Wise (the Owner of Wisdom and Judgment). (1)
33/Al-Ahzab-2: Vattabi’ mea yoohea ilayka min raabbik(raabbika), innaalleaha keana bimea taa’maloona haabeerea(haabeeran).
And follow what is revealed to you from your Lord. Surely Allah is All-Aware of what you do. (2)
33/Al-Ahzab-3: Va tavakkal aalealleah(aalealleahi) va kafea billeahi vakeelea(vakeelan).
And put your trust in Allah and Allah is Sufficient as a Surrogate. (3)
33/Al-Ahzab-4: Mea caaalaalleahu li raaculin min kaalbayni fee cavfih(cavfihee), va mea caaala azveacakumulleaee tuzeahıroona min hunna ummaheatikum, va mea caaala ad’ıyeaakum abneaakum, zealikum kaavlukum bi afveahikum, vaalleahu yakoolul haakkaa va huva yahdees sabeel(sabeela).
Allah has not made (created) for a man two hearts in his chest nor has He made your wives whose backs you liken to the backs of your mothers as your mothers (claiming this in order to divorce them), nor has He made your adopted sons Your real sons. These are but the statements in your mouths. And Allah speaks the truth, and He guides to the Way (leading to Himself). (4)
33/Al-Ahzab-5: Ud’oohum li eabeaihim huva aaksaatu indaalleah(indaalleahi), fa in lam taa’lamoo eabeaahum fa ıhveanukum feed deeni va mavealeekum, va laysa aalaykum cuneahun feemea aahtaa’tum bihee va leakin mea taaaammadat kuloobukum, va keanaalleahu gaafooran raaheemea(raaheeman).
Call them (your adopted children) by the names of their fathers. This is more just in the Presence of Allah. If you do not know their fathers, then they are your brethren in faith and your friends. And there is no blame on you concerning that in which you made a mistake, but (there is blame concerning) that which your hearts have you do intentionally, and Allah is Ever Oft-Forgiving (the One Who changes evil deeds into merits), the Most Merciful (the One Who manifests Himself with His Name of Most Merciful). (5)
33/Al-Ahzab-6: An nabiyyu avlea bil mu’mineena min anfusihim va azveacuhu ummaheatuhum, va oolool arheami baa’duhum avlea bi baa’dın fee kiteabilleahi minal mu’mineena val muheacireena illea an taf’aaloo ilea avliyeaikum maa’roofea(maa’roofan), keana zealika feel kiteabi mastooraa(mastooran).
The Prophet is closer to the believers than their own souls and his wives are their mothers, and the owners of kinship (relatives) are closer one to other in the Book of Allah than believers and the Emigrants. Except that you do good to your friends. These are written in the Book, line by line. (6)
33/Al-Ahzab-7: Va iz ahaaznea minan nabeeyyeena meeseakaahum va minka va min noohın va ibreaheema va moosea va eeseabni maryama va ahaaznea minhum meeseakaan gaaleezea(gaaleezaan).
And We had taken from the Prophets their Covenants. And from you, and from Noah and Abraham and Moses and Jesus, son of Mary, We took from them a strong covenant. (7)
33/Al-Ahzab-8: Li yas’alas seadikeena aan sıdkıhim, va aaadda lil keafireena aazeaban aleemea(aleeman).
That He may question the loyal of their loyalty and He has prepared for the disbelievers a painful torment. (8)
33/Al-Ahzab-9: Yea ayyuheallazeena eamanoozkuroo ni’mataalleahi aalaykum iz ceaatkum cunoodun fa arsalnea aalayhim reehaan va cunoodan lam taravhea, va keanaalleahu bimea taa’maloona baaseerea(baaseeran).
O you who believe (who wish to reach Allah before death)! Remember Allah’s Blessing upon you. There had come down upon you armies. Then We sent against them a strong wind and armies that you could not see, and Allah is Ever All-Seeing of what you do. (9)
33/Al-Ahzab-10: Iz ceaukum min favkıkum va min asfala minkum va iz zeagaatil absearu va balagaatil kuloobul haaneacira va tazunnoona billeahiz zunoonea(zunoonan).
When they came upon you from above and from below you, and when the eyes turned dull and the hearts rose up to the throats, you were harboring doubts about Allah. (10)
33/Al-Ahzab-11: Hunealikabtuliyal mu’minoona va zulziloo zilzealan shadeedea(shadeedan).
There, the believers were tried and shaken with a mighty shaking. (11)
33/Al-Ahzab-12: Va iz yakoolul muneafikoona vallazeena fee kuloobihim maaraadun mea vaaaadanaalleahu va rasooluhoo illea guroorea(gurooraan).
And the disbelievers and those in whose hearts was a disease (doubt) were saying: “Allah and His Messenger did not promise us anything but pride (deception)”. (12)
33/Al-Ahzab-13: Va iz kealat teaifatun minhum yea ahla yasriba lea mukeama lakum farcioo, va yasta’zinu fareekun minhumun nabiyya yakooloona inna buyootanea aavratun va mea hiya bi aavrah(aavratin), in yureedoona illea firearea(firearaan).
And a party of them said: “O people of Yathrib (Al-Madinah)! There is no place to stand for you (here), therefore turn back”! And (another) party of them was asking permission of the Prophet, saying: “Surely our houses are without protection”. And they were not without protection but they were just wishing to flee (from the battle). (13)
And upon them, if an entry were made from every part of it (the city), and they had then been asked (to cause) Al-Fitnah (mischief), they would absolutely have come to it (to cause mischief) and they would not have stayed there but a little. (14)
33/Al-Ahzab-15: Va lakaad keanoo eahadoolleaha min kaablu lea yuvalloonal adbear(adbeara), va keana aahdulleahi mas’oolea(mas’oolan).
And certainly they had made a covenant with Allah before not to turn their backs and flee. And a covenant with Allah is a responsibility. (15)
33/Al-Ahzab-16: Kul lan yanfaaakumul firearu in farartum minal mavti avil kaatli va izan lea tumattaoona illea kaaleelea(kaaleelan).
Say: “Fleeing will not avail you if you flee from death or being killed. Then you will not be allowed to enjoy yourselves but a little while”. (16)
33/Al-Ahzab-17: Kul man zallazee yaa’sımukum minaalleahi in areada bikum sooan av areadabikum raahmah(raahmatan), va lea yacidoona lahum min doonilleahi valiyyan va lea naaseerea(naaseeran).
Say: “Who can protect you from Allah if He wishes harm for you, or wishes mercy for you”? They can not find any friend or helper other than Allah. (17)
33/Al-Ahzab-18: Kaad yaa’lamulleahul muaavvikeena minkum val keaileena li ıhveanihim halumma ilaynea, va lea ya’toonal ba’sa illea kaaleelea(kaaleelan).
Allah certainly knew those among you who hindered (the help to the Prophet) and those who said to their brethren: “Come to us”. And they do not come to the battle but a little. (18)
33/Al-Ahzab-19: Ashıhhaatan aalaykum fa izea ceaal haavfu raaytahum yanzuroona ilayka tadooru aa’yunuhum kallazee yugshea aalayhi minal mavt(mavti), fa izea zahabal haavfu salakookum bi alsinatin hıdeadin ashıhhaatan aalal haayr(haayrı), uleaika lam yu’minoo fa aahbataalleahu aa’mealahum, va keana zealika aalaalleahi yaseerea(yaseeran).
They are stingy towards you. But when fear comes, then you see them looking at you, their eyes rolling like one fainting because of death. They smite you with sharp tongues (with harsh words). They are not the believers. Therefore Allah has made their deeds vain (null, fruitless) and this was ever easy to Allah. (19)
33/Al-Ahzab-20: Yaahsaboonal aahzeaba lam yazhaboo, va in ya’til aahzeabu yavaddoo lav annahum beadoona feel aa’reabi yas’aloona aan anbeaikum, va lav keanoo feekum mea keataloo illea kaaleelea(kaaleelan).
They (disbelievers) think that the (enemy) armies are not gone and if the armies should come, they would wish that they were with the Arabs (leaking in) asking for news about you, and if they were among you, they would not fight but a little. (20)
33/Al-Ahzab-21: Lakaad keana lakum fee rasoolilleahi usvatun haasanatun liman keana yarcoolleaha val yavmal eahıra va zakaraalleaha kaseerea(kaseeran).
Certainly you have in the Messenger of Allah an excellent exemplar for him who hopes to reach Allah and the Last Day (the day of reaching Allah before death) and remember (repeat the Name of) Allah much. (21)
33/Al-Ahzab-22: Va lammea raaal mu’minoonal aahzeaba kealoo heazea mea vaaaadanaalleahu va rasooluhu va saadaakaalleahu va rasooluhu va mea zeadahum illea eemeanan va tasleemea(tasleeman).
And when the believers saw the (enemy) armies, they said: “This (victory) is what Allah and His Messenger promised. Allah and His Messenger spoke the truth”. And this only increased them in Faith and Submission. (22)
33/Al-Ahzab-23: Minal mu’mineena ricealun saadaakoo mea eahadoollaaha aalayh(aalayhi), fa minhum man kaadea naahbahu va minhum man yantazıroo va mea baddaloo tabdeelea(tabdeelaan).
Of the believers are men who were true to the covenant which they made with Allah (to remain loyal to their promise given to Allah that they would remain patient until they would become martyrs). So some of them accomplished their covenant (died a martyr), and some of them are waiting (being a martyr) and they have not changed (anything from their covenants) in the least. (23)
33/Al-Ahzab-24: Li yacziyaalleahus seadıkeena bi sıdkıhım va yuaazzibal muneafıkeena in sheaa av yatooba aalayhim, innaalleaha keana gaafooran raaheemea(raaheeman).
That Allah may reward the loyal for their loyalty, and torment the disbelievers or accept their repentance if He wills. Surely Allah is Oft-Forgiving (the One who changes evil deeds into merits), the Most Merciful (the one Who manifests Himself with His Name of Most Merciful). (24)
33/Al-Ahzab-25: Va raddaalleahullazeena kafaroo bi gaayzıhim lam yanealoo haayrea(haayraan), va kafaalleahul mu’mineenal kıteal, va keanaalleahu kaaviyyan aazeezea(aazeezan).
And Allah turned back the disbelievers in their rage, they could not obtain any good (they could not become victorious) and Allah sufficed the believers in the war (by making them victorious). And Allah is Ever All-Strong, All-Mighty. (25)
33/Al-Ahzab-26: Va anzalallazeena zeaharoohum min ahlil kiteabi min saayeaseehım va kaazafa fee kuloobihimur ru’ba fariykaan taaktuloona va ta’siroona fareekea(fareekaan).
And He drove down those of the People of the Book who backed them from their fortresses and He cast terror into their hearts. A group (of them) you were killing and a group (of them) you were taking captives. (26)
33/Al-Ahzab-27: Va avrasakum aardaahum va diyearahum va amvealahum va aardaan lam tataauhea, va keanaalleahu aalea kulli shay’in kaadeerea(kaadeeraan).
And He made you heirs to their soil and their country, their property, and land which you have not yet stepped on and Allah has Power over all things. (27)
33/Al-Ahzab-28: Yea ayyuhan nabiyyu kul li azveacika in kuntunna turidnal haayeatad dunyea va ziynatahea fa taealayna umatti’kunna va usarrihkunna sareahaan cameelea(cameelan).
O prophet! Say to your wives: “If you desire the life of this world and its adornment, then come, I will give you a provision (I will give you your Mahr) and divorce you in a handsome manner”. (28)
33/Al-Ahzab-29: Va in kuntunna turidnaalleaha va rasoolahu vaddearal’eahırata fa innaalleaha aaadda lil muhsineati minkunna acran aazeemea(aazeeman).
And if you desire Allah and His Messenger and the Abode of the Hereafter, then surely Allah has prepared for the good-doing women among you a Mighty Reward (an Immense Wage). (29)
33/Al-Ahzab-30: Yea niseaan nabiyyi man ya’ti min kunna bi feahıshatin mubayyinatin yudea’aaf lahal’aazeabu dı’fayn(dı’fayni), va keana zealika aalealleahi yaseerea(yaseeraan).
O wives of the Prophet! Whoever of you comes with an open indecency, the torment shall be increased for her in double. And this is ever easy for Allah. (30)
33/Al-Ahzab-31: Va man yaaknut min kunna lilleahi va rasoolihi va taa’mal sealihaan nu’tihea acrahea marratayni va aa’tadnea lahea rızkaan kareemea(kareeman).
And whoever of you is obedient (devoted with reverence) to Allah and His Messenger, and does improving deeds (does the soul’s cleansing), We give her reward in double. And We have prepared for her an honorable (generous) sustenance. (31)
33/Al-Ahzab-32: Yea niseaan nabiyyi lastunna ka ahaadin minan nisaai inittakaaytunna fa lea taahdaa’na bil kaavli fa yaatmaaaallazee fee kaalbihee maaraadun va kulna kaavlan maa’roofea(maa’roofan).
O wives of the Prophet! You are not like any other of the women. If you are the owners of piety, then be not soft in speech, (do not speak to men appealingly, lest he in whose heart is a disease (temptation, lust) desires. And speak a somber (serious) word. (32)
33/Al-Ahzab-33: Va kaarna fee buyootikunna va lea tabarracna tabarrucal ceahiliyyatil oolea va akımnas saaleata va eateenaz zakeata va aatı’naalleaha va rasoolah(rasoolahu), innamea yureedulleahu li yuzhiba aankumur ricsa ahlal bayti va yutaahhirakum taatheerea(taatheeraan).
And stay in your houses. Do not display (your embellishments) yourselves like the Time of Ignorance. And keep up the Prayer and pay Alms (Zakat). Obey Allah and His Messenger. O people of the House! Allah only wishes to keep away the sin from you and to cleanse you with a thorough cleansing. (33)

33/Al-Ahzab-34: Vazkurna mea yutlea fee buyootikunna min eayeatilleahi val hikmah(hikmati), innaalleaha keana laateefan haabeerea(haabeeran).
And repeat (remember) what is recited in your houses of the Verses of Allah and the wisdom. Surely Allah is All-Subtle (Knower of subtleties), All-Aware. (34)

Allah has prepared for them Forgiveness and a Great Reward. (35)

And it is not for a believing man or a believing woman to have any choice in their affair when Allah and His Messenger have decided an affair for them. And whoever is rebellious (disobedient) to Allah and His Messenger, indeed strayed into a plain Misguidance. (36)

And you had said to the person on whom Allah has bestowed Blessings and you have blessed as well: “Keep your wife (to yourself and do not divorce) and have piety towards Allah”. You were hiding in your soul (yourself) that which Allah will make manifest and you were afraid of the people. Allah has a better right that you should fear Him. So when Zaid had abscised his desire from her, We married her to you, so that there may be no difficulty to the believers in respect of (the marriage of) the wives of their adopted sons when the latter have no desire to keep them (they have divorced them). (So) Allah’s Command had been fulfilled. (37)

There is no difficulty for the Prophet in (fulfilling) what Allah has ordained for him. That has been the Sunnetallah (Course of Allah). Allah’s command was a decreed destiny (that is fulfilled). (38)

O you who believe (who wish to reach Allah while they are alive)! When you marry the believing women, then divorce them before you touch them, you have in their case no term. So give some provision to them (give their Mahr) and release them with a fair divorce. (49)

O Prophet! Surely We have made permissible to you your wives to whom you have paid their Mahr and those (concubines) whom your right hand possesses out of those whom Allah has given to you as bounty of war. And the daughters of your paternal uncles and the daughters of your paternal aunts and the daughters of your maternal uncles and the daughters of your maternal aunts who migrated with you, and a believing woman who offered Her soul (herself) to the Prophet, and where the Prophet also wishes to marry her, (We made lawful) specially for you, not for the (rest of) believers. We know what We have obligated upon them (rest of the believers) about their wives and those (concubines) whom their right hands possess (this is) in order that there should be no difficulty on you. Allah is Ever Oft-Forgiving, the Most Merciful (the One Who manifests Himself with His Name of Most Merciful). (50)

You may put off whom you please of them, and you may take to you whom you please. And there is no blame for you whom you desire of those (again) that you had released. This is most proper, so that their eyes may be cool (that they are happy), and they may not grieve, and they should be pleased, all of them, with what you have given them. And Allah knows what is in your hearts and Allah is Ever All-Knowing, Most Gentle. (51)

After this, it is not lawful for you to change (with another woman) one of the (other) women or your wives even though their beauty pleases you, except those (concubines) whom your right hand possesses. And Allah is Watcher over all things. (52)

O you who believe (who wish to reach Allah while they are living)! Do not enter the Prophet’s houses unless permission is given to you! (If you have entered them) do not wait (taking your time) for a meal to be prepared. But enter when you are invited. When you have eaten your food, disperse immediately and do not linger for conversation, nor keep with your conversation (talk without permission). Surely this was causing annoyance to the Prophet but he was feeling shy of you. Allah is not shy of (telling you) the truth. When you ask of them (the wives of the Prophet) anything, ask of them from behind a curtain. This is purer for your and their hearts. It cannot be (lawful) for you that you to annoy the Messenger of Allah and after this for you to marry his wives forever. Surely this is an enormous sin in the Sight of Allah. (53)

There is no sin on them (the Prophet’s wives) to appear to their fathers, or their sons, or their brothers, or their brothers’ sons, or their sisters’ sons, or their own women, or what their right hands possess (their slaves). Have piety towards Allah. Surely Allah is Ever All-Witness over everything. (55)

33/Al-Ahzab-57: Innallazeena yu’zoonaalleaha va rasoolahu laaanahumulleahu feed dunyea val eahırati va aaadda lahum aazeaban muheenea(muheenan).
Surely (as for) those who annoy Allah and His Messenger, Allah has cursed them in this world and in the Hereafter and has prepared for them a humiliating torment. (57)

O Prophet! Say to your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers (believing women) that they wrap themselves up in their over garments (cover themselves). This is more proper, that they may be known (that they are not female slaves but they are free and chaste women) and thus they will not be given annoyance and Allah is Ever Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. (59)

This is (also) the Sunnatullah (the Law of Allah) with respect to those who passed away of old. And you can not find any change in the Sunnatullah of Allah. (62)
