Surah Az-Zumar

Bismillaah ir rahmaan ir raheem

39/Az-Zumar-1: Tanzeelul kiteabi minaalleahil aazeezil haakeem(haakeemi).
The descent of the Book is from Allah, the All-Mighty, the All-Wise. (1)
39/Az-Zumar-2: Innea anzalnea ilaykal kiteaba bil haakkı faa’budilleaha muhlisaan lahud deen(dina).
Surely We have sent down the Book to you with the truth, therefore become a servant to Allah making the Religion pure for Him (as being a Muhlis). (2)
39/Az-Zumar-3: A lea lilleahid deenul healis(healisu), vallazeenattahaazoo min doonihee avliyea, mea naa’buduhum illea li yukaarriboonea ilealleahi zulfea, innaalleaha yaahkumu baynahum fee mea hum feehi yaahtalifoon(yaahtalifoona), innaalleaha lea yahdee man huva keazibun kaffear(kaffearun).
The pure Religion is for Allah, is not it? And those who took friends besides Him (Allah), (said): “We only worship them (idols) that they may make us nearer to Allah”. Surely Allah judges between them in that which they differ. Surely Allah does not deliver those who are liars, and deniers to HidayetH. (3)
39/Az-Zumar-4: Lav areadaalleahu an yattahıza valadanlaastaafea mimmea yaahluku mea yasheau subheanah(subheanahu), huvaalleahul veahıdul kaahhear(kaahhearu).
If Allah had willed to take a son, He surely would have chosen whom He willed out of those whom He created. Glory be to Him (He is above all). He is Allah, the One, the Destroyer. (4)
39/Az-Zumar-5: Haalaakaas sameaveati val aardaa bil haakk(haakkı), yukavvirul layla aalan naheari va yukavvirun naheara aalal layli va sahhaarash shamsa val kaamar(kaamara), kullun yacree li acalin musammea(musamman), a lea huval aazeezul gaaffear(gaaffearu).
(Allah) has created the heavens and the earth with the truth. He converts the night into day and the day into night. He has subjected the sun and the moon (to command). They all run on to an assigned term (in their orbit). Is not He the All-Mighty, the Oft-Forgiving? (5)
39/Az-Zumar-6: Haalaakaakum min nafsin veahıdatin summa caaala minhea zavcahea va anzala lakum minal an’eami sameaniyata azveac(azveacin), yaahlukukum fee butooni ummaheatikum haalkaan min baa’di haalkın fee zulumeatin saleas(saleasin), zealikumulleahu raabbukum lahul mulk(mulku), lea ileaha illea huva, fa annea tusraafoon(tusraafoona).
He created you from a single soul, then made from it his wife. And he has sent down for you eight pairs of the four legged animals. He creates you in the wombs of your mothers, a creation after a creation (changing your form from one to another), in three stages of darkness. This is your Lord, Allah. His is the Dominion. There is no god but He. Yet, how then are you still turned away? (6)
39/Az-Zumar-7: In takfuroo fa innaalleaha gaaniyyun aankum, va lea yardea li ıbeadihil kufr(kufraa), va in tashkuroo yardaahu lakum, va lea taziru veaziratun vizraa uhrea, summa ilea raabbikum marciukum fa yunabbiukum bimea kuntum taa’maloon(taa’maloona), innahoo aaleemun bi zeatis sudoor(sudoori).
If you deny, surely Allah is Self-Sufficient (doesn’t need you). And He is not Pleased with disbelief (ungratefulness) for His servants. And if you are grateful, He becomes Pleased with you. No bearer of burdens bears the burden of another. Then to your Lord is your return. So He will inform you of what you used to do. Surely He is the All-Knower of what is in the bosoms. (7)
39/Az-Zumar-8: Va izea massal inseana durrun daea raabbahu muneeban ilayhi summa izea haavvalahu ni’matan minhu nasiya mea keana yad’oo ilayhi min kaablu va caaala lilleahi andeadan li yudılla aan sabeelihi, kul tamattaa’ bi kufrika kaaleelan innaka min aasheabin near(neari).
And when some harm touches man, he calls upon his Lord, turning to Him. Then when (Allah) bestows a Blessing upon him from Himself, he forgets that he called upon Him before. He sets up equals to Allah, in order to mislead (others) from His Way. Say: “Enjoy yourself in your disbelief a little; surely you are of the inmates of hell”. (8)
39/Az-Zumar-9: Am man huva keanitun eaneaal layli seacidan va keaiman yaahzarul eahırata va yarcoo raahmata raabbih(raabbihee), kul hal yastaveellazeena yaa’lamoona vallazeena lea yaa’lamoon(yaa’lamoona), innamea yatazakkaru ulool albeab(albeabi).
Is the one who is obedient (to Allah, worships Allah devoutly) during hours of the night, prostrating himself and standing, fearing the Hereafter and hoping for the Mercy of Allah? Say: “Are those who know and those who do not know ever equal? Only the ûli’l elbâb (the owners of the continuous remembrance, the owners of the secret divine treasures) understand”. (9)
39/Az-Zumar-10: Kul yea ıbeadıllazeena eamanoottakoo raabbakum, lillazeena aahsanoo fee heazihid dunyea haasanah(haasanatun), va aardulleahi veasiaah(veasiaatun) innamea yuvaffaas seabiroona acrahum bi gaayri hiseab(hiseabin).
Say: “O my servants, who believe, be the owners of piety towards your Lord! There is good for those who are the best of the best in this world and Allah’s earth is spacious. But the patient are paid back their reward without measure. (10)
39/Az-Zumar-11: Kul innee umirtu an aa’budaalleaha muhlisaan lahud deen(deena).
Say: “Certainly I am commanded that I should become a servant to Allah, making the religion pure for Him”. (11)
39/Az-Zumar-12: Va umirtu li an akoona avvalal muslimeen(muslimeena).
And I am commanded to be the first of those who is submitted. (12)
39/Az-Zumar-13: Kul innee aheafu in aasaaytu raabbee aazeaba yavmin aazeem(aazeemin).
Say: “If I rebel against my Lord, I fear the torment of a great Day”. (13)
39/Az-Zumar-14: Kulilleaha aa’budu muhlisaan lahu deenee.
Say: “I become a servant to Allah, making my religion pure for Him”. (14)
39/Az-Zumar-15: Faa’budoo mea shi’tum min doonih(doonihi), kul innal heasireena allazeena haasiroo anfusahum va ahleehim yavmal kıyeamah(kıyeamati) a lea zealika huval husreanul mubeen(mubeenu).
Worship then what you like besides Him. Say: “Surely those who make themselves and their families fall into Loss are those who will be exposed to Loss on the Day of Resurrection”. Is not this a clear Loss? (15)
39/Az-Zumar-16: Lahum min favkıhim zulalun minan neari va min taahtihim zulal(zulalun), zealika yuhaavvifulleahu bihee ıbeadah(ıbeadatu), yea ıbeadi fattakoon(fattakooni).
For them there are shadows (coverings) of Fire, above them and shadows beneath them. Just like that Allah frightens His servants with that. O My servants! Therefore have piety towards Me. (16)
39/Az-Zumar-17: Vallazeenactanaboot teagoota an yaa’budoohea va aneaboo ilealleahi lahumul bushrea, fa bashshir ıbeadi.
And those who saved themselves from being servants to At-Tâghût (human and jinn Satans). Because they turned to Allah (they wished to reach Allah while alive). For them there are glad tidings. Therefore give good tidings to My servants! (17)
39/Az-Zumar-18: Allazeena yastamioonal kaavla fa yattabioona aahsanahu, uleaikallazeena hadeahumulleahu va uleaika hum ulool albeab(albeabi).
They listen to the Word, then follow the best of it. Those are they whom Allah caused to attain Hidayet. And those it is who are ûli’l elbâb (the owners of the continuous Dhikr, the owners of the secret divine treasures). (18)
39/Az-Zumar-19: A fa man haakkaa aalayhi kalimatul aazeab(aazeabi), a fa anta tunkızu man feen near(neari).
Then if the Word of the torment is justified upon one, can you rescue him who is in the Fire? (19)
39/Az-Zumar-20: Leakinillazeenattakaav raabbahum lahum gurafun min favkıhea gurafun mabniyyatun tacree min taahtihal anhear(anhearu), vaa’daalleah(vaa’daalleahi), lea yuhlifulleahul meeead(meeeada).
But those who have piety towards their Lord, for them are built lofty mansions (high ranks) one above another under which the rivers flow. The Promise of Allah that Allah never fails in His Promise. (20)
39/Az-Zumar-21: A lam tara annaalleaha anzala minas sameai meaan fa salakahu yaneabeeaa feel aardı summa yuhricu bihee zar’aan muhtalifan alveanuhu summa yaheecu fa tareahu musfarraan summa yac’aaluhu huteamea(huteaman), inna fee zealika la zikrea li uleel albeab(albeabi).
Have you not seen that Allah sends down water from the sky, and then makes it to join the springs? Then brings forth therewith crops of various colors. Then it withers so that you see it yellow. Then He makes it a dry stick. Most surely there is indeed a reminder (lesson) for ûli’l elbâb (the owners of the continuous Dhikr, the owners of the secret treasures of Allah). (21)
39/Az-Zumar-22: A fa man sharaahaalleahu saadraahu lil isleami fa huva aalea noorin min raabbih(raabbihi), fa vaylun lil keasiyati kuloobuhum min zikrilleah(zikrilleahi), uleaika fee daalealin mubeen(mubeenin).
Whose heart Allah slit for Islam (to submit to Allah) so that he is upon a glorious light from his Lord, is not he? Woe to those whose hearts are darkened (and hardened) from the Remembrance (Dhikr) of Allah! Those are in a manifest Misguidance. (22)
39/Az-Zumar-23: AAlleahu nazzala aahsanal haadeesi kiteaban mutasheabihan maseaniya taakshaaırru minhu culoodullazeena yaahshavna raabbahum, summa taleenu culooduhum va kuloobuhum ilea zikrilleah(zikrilleahi), zealika hudaalleahi yahdee bihee man yasheau, va man yudlililleahu fa mea lahu min head(headin).
Allah sent down the most beautiful (among His glorious lights, mercy, virtues and benedictions) ones in pairs (benedictions-mercy and benedictions-virtue) as similar to the Book. With those (glorious lights), the skins of those who have reverence tremble. Then with the Dhikr of Allah (remembering and repeating the Name of Allah), their skins and their hearts (souls’ hearts) get softer (find peace). This is the “HİDAYET” of Allah, delivers with that whomever He wills to Hidayet. And for him whom Allah leaves in Misguidance, there is none who can take him to HİDAYET. (23)
39/Az-Zumar-24: A fa man yattakee bi vachihee sooal aazeabi yavmal kıyeama(kıyeamati), va kıyla liz zealimeena zookoo mea kuntum taksiboon(taksiboona).
Then, who may guard his face (his physical body) from the evil torment on the Day of Resurrection? And it will be said to the wrongdoers: “Taste what you have earned (the punishment of your sins)”. (24)
39/Az-Zumar-25: Kazzaballazeena min kaablihim fa ateahumul aazeabu min haaysu lea yash’uroon(yash’uroona).
Those before them belied (too), therefore the torment came to them from whence they did not perceive. (25)
39/Az-Zumar-26: Fa azeakaahumulleahul hızya feel haayeatid dunyea, va la aazeabul eahırati akbar(akbaru), lav keanoo yaa’lamoon(yaa’lamoona).
So Allah made them taste the disgrace in the life of the world, and certainly the torment of the Hereafter is greater. Did they but know! (26)
39/Az-Zumar-27: Va lakaad daarabnea lin neasi fee heazal kur’eani min kulli masalin laaallahum yatazakkaroon(yatazakkaroona).
And certainly We have set forth to mankind in this Qur’ân examples of every sort. It is hoped that they may deliberate (consider). (27)
39/Az-Zumar-28: Kur’eanan aaraabiyyan gaayra zee ivacin laaallahum yattakoon(yattakoona).
(This is) an Arabic Qur’ân without any crookedness (contradictions, flaws). It is hoped that they may become the owners of piety. (28)
39/Az-Zumar-29: Daaraabaalleahu masalan raaculan feehi shurakeau mutasheakisoona va raaculan salaman li raacul(raaculin), hal yastaviyeani masal(masalan), al haamdulilleah(al haamdulilleahi), bal aksaruhum lea yaa’lamoon(yaa’lamoona).
Allah set forth this example: ‘Is the case of a man who is a partner with several others who are differing one another be same with a man submitting to one man only’? Praise be to Allah. But most of them know not. (29)
39/Az-Zumar-30: Innaka mayyitun va innahum mayyitoon(mayyitoona).
Surely you are subject to death too and they certainly are subject to death as well. (30)
39/Az-Zumar-31: Summa innakum yavmal kıyeamati enda raabbikum taahtaasımoon(taahtaasımoona).
Then surely on the Day of Resurrection in your Lord’s Presence you will be defendants and plaintiffs. (31)
39/Az-Zumar-32: Fa man aazlamu mimman kazzaba aalealleahi va kazzaba bis sıdkı iz ceaah(ceaahu), a laysa fee cahannama masvan lil keafireen(keafireena).
Then who does more wrong then one who utters a lie against Allah and denies the truth (of reaching Allah before death) when it comes to him? Is there not in Hell an abode for the disbelievers? (32)
39/Az-Zumar-33: Vallazee ceaa bis sıdkı va saaddakaa bihee uleaika humul muttakoon(muttakoona).
And he who comes with the truth (who calls others to make a wish to reach Allah) and he who confirmed it (those who wish to reach Allah before death), they are the owners of piety. (33)
39/Az-Zumar-34: Lahum mea yasheaoona inda raabbihim, zealika cazeaul muhsineen(muhsineena).
All that they wished are for them in the presence of their Lord. This is the reward of the Muhsinûn (good-doers). (34)
39/Az-Zumar-35: Li yukaffiraalleahu aanhum asvaallazee aamiloo va yacziyahum acrahum bi aahsanillazee keanoo yaa’maloon(yaa’maloona).
Allah covers even the worst of what they did (their sins) and gives them their reward for the best of what they have done (changes their evil deeds into merits). (35)
39/Az-Zumar-36: A laysaalleahu bi keafin aabdah(aabdahu), va yuhaavvifoonaka billazeena min doonih(doonihee), va man yudlililleahu fa mea lahu min head(headin).
Is not Allah Sufficient for His servant? And they seek to frighten you with those besides Him (with other gods, idols). Whomsoever Allah leaves in Misguidance, there is no one to give him Hidayet (Mahdi) for him. (36)

39/Az-Zumar-37: Va man yahdilleahu fa mea lahu min mudıll(mudıllin), a laysaalleahu bi aazeezin zeentikeam(zeentikeamin).
And whomever Allah delivers to Hidayet, there is none that can make him fall into Misguidance. Is not Allah All-Mighty, Possessor of Revenge? (37)

And assuredly, if you should ask them: “Who created the heavens and the earth”, they would most certainly say: “Allah”. Say: “Have you then seen what you called upon besides Allah”? If Allah willed some harm for me, could they remove His harm? Or if Allah willed some Mercy for me, could they withhold His mercy, they trust in Him (take Him as a surrogate). (38)

Surely, We have sent down to you the Book for the mankind with the truth. So whoever reaches Hidayet, it is for his own soul and whoever remains in Misguidance, he is in Misguidance against himself. And you are not a surrogate upon them. (41)

Allah causes the physical bodies to die at the time of death. And those who are in their sleep, they are not dead, then He retains the one who will be decreed to die (the physical body of the person in the state of sleep) and sends the other (the soul) till an appointed term (wherever it desires to go in a dream). Most surely there are signs (lessons) in this for a people who reflect. (42)

And when Allah’s Oneness is mentioned, the hearts of those who do not believe in the Hereafter (in reaching Allah before death) get shivered with hatred. When those besides Him are mentioned, they rejoice. (45)

And if the wrong-doers had all that is in the earth and the like of it with it, they would certainly offer it as ransom (to be saved) from the evil of the torment on the Day of Resurrection. And there will become apparent to them from Allah what they had not been reckoning. (47)
39/Az-Zumar-48: Va badea lahum sayyieatu mea kasaboo va heakaa bihim mea keanoo bihee yastahzioon(yastahzioona).
And the evil (sins and bad deeds) of what they earned became obvious to them and the very thing (the torment) they mocked at surrounded them. (48)

Those before them also did say (the very same thing) indeed, but whatever they earned did not benefit them. (50)

So the evil (sins, bad deeds) touched them. And those who did wrong of those, the evil of what they earn will soon touch them, and they do not have the power to prevent the torment. (51)

They (people of hell) said: “Yes (they did come)”, but the Word of torment has been justified upon the disbelievers. (71)
