Surah Luqman

Bismillaah ir rahmaan ir raheem

31/Luqman-1: Alif leam meem.
Alif-Lam-Mim. (1)
31/Luqman-2: Tilka eayeatul kiteabil haakeem(haakeemi).
These are the Verses of the Book that is All-Wise (full of Wisdom and Judgment). (2)
31/Luqman-3: Hudan va raahmatan lil muhsineen(muhsineena).
(Renderer to) Hidayet and a Mercy for the good-doers (Al-Muhsinun). (3)
31/Luqman-4: Allazeena yukeemoonas saaleata va yu’toonaz zakeata va hum bil eahırati hum yookinoon(yookinoona).
Those who keep up the Prayer and pay Alms (Zakat) and they have faith in the Hereafter (reaching Allah before death) with certainty. (4)
31/Luqman-5: Uleaika aalea hudan min raabbihim va uleaika humul muflihoon(muflihoona).
These are on a Hidayet from their Lord, and these are they who are in Salvation. (5)
31/Luqman-6: Va minan neasi man yashtaree lahval haadeesi li yudılla aan sabeelilleahi bi gaayri ilmin va yattahızahea huzuvea(huzuvan), uleaika lahum aazeabun muheen(muheenun).
And some of those who purchase frivolous discourse to lead astray from the Way of Allah without knowledge and they take it for a mockery. For such there is a humiliating torment. (6)
31/Luqman-7: Va izea tutlea aalayhi eayeatunea vallea mustakbiran ka an lam yasmaa’hea ka anna fee uzunayhi vaakrea(vaakraan), fa bashshirhu bi aazeabin aleem(aleemin).
And when Our Verses are recited to him, he turns back in pride as if he had not heard them, as though in his ears were heaviness (hearing obstacle). Therefore give him tidings (warning) of a painful torment. (7)
31/Luqman-8: Innallazeena eamanoo va aamiloos sealiheati lahum canneatun naa’eem(naa’eemi).
As for those who believe (are Amenû, who wish to reach Allah while they are living) and do improving deeds (do the soul’s purification), for them are heavens of Naim. (8)
31/Luqman-9: Healideena feehea, vaa’daalleahi haakkea(haakkaan), va huval aazeezul haakeem(haakeemu).
(They are the ones) to abide in there forever. The Promise of Allah is true and He is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise (the Owner of Wisdom and Judgment). (9)
31/Luqman-10: Haalaakaas sameaveati bi gaayri aamadin taravnahea va alkea feel aardı raveasiya an tameeda bikum va bassa feehea min kulli deabbah(deabbatin), va anzalnea minas sameai meaan fa anbatnea feehea min kulli zavcin kareem(kareemin).
He created the skies without pillars as you see them and has cast in the earth firm mountains lest it might shake you. He spread in it walking creatures of every kind. And We sent down water from the sky, hence caused to grow therein of every noble (gifted) pair of plants. (10)
31/Luqman-11: Heazea haalkulleahi fa aroonee meazea haalaakaallazeena min doonih(doonihee), baliz zealimoona fee daalealin mubeen(mubeenin).
This is Allah’s creation. So show Me what those besides Him have created. Nay, the wrong-doers (Az-Zalimûn) are in manifest Misguidance. (11)
31/Luqman-12: Va lakaad eataynea lukmeanal hikmata anishkur lilleah(lilleahi), va man yashkur fa innamea yashkuru li nafsih(nafsihee), va man kafara fa innalleaha gaaniyyun haameed(haameedun).
And certainly We gave wisdom to Luqman for him to be grateful to Allah. And whoever is grateful, he is only grateful for his own soul and whoever is ungrateful (disbelieves, denies), then Allah is All-Sufficient (does not need anyone’s gratefulness), All-Praised (Praiseworthy). (12)
And Luqman said to his son while he admonished him: “O my son! Do not associate anything with Allah! Most surely ascribing partners (to Allah) is a tremendous torment. (13)
31/Luqman-14: Va vaassaaynal inseana bi vealidayh(vealidayhi), haamalathu ummuhu vahnan aalea vahnin va fisealuhu fee eamayni anishkurlee va li vealidayk(vealidayka), ilayyal maaseer(maaseeru).
And We have enjoined on human (to be dutiful and kind) to their parents. His mother bore him in difficulty upon difficulty and his weaning is in two years. Be grateful to Me and to both your parents! The return is to Me. (14)
31/Luqman-15: Va in ceahadeaka aalea an tushrika bee mea laysa laka bihee ilmun fa lea tutı’humea va seahibhumea feed dunyea maagroofan vattabi’ sabeela man aneaba ilayy(ilayya), summa ilayya marciukum fa unabbiukum bi mea kuntum taa’maloon(taa’maloona).
And if they strive with you that you should associate with Me that of which You have no knowledge, do not obey neither of them! And deal with them in this world kindly. Follow the Way of those who turned to Me (who wished to have their spirits reach Me), then to Me is your return. Then will I inform you of what you used to do. (15)
31/Luqman-16: Yea bunayya innahea in taku miskeala haabbatin min haardaalin fa takun fee saahratin av fees sameaveati av feel aardı ya’ti bihealleah(bihealleahu), innalleaha laateefun haabeer(haabeerun).
O my child! Surely if it (your deed) is the very weight of the grain of a mustard-seed, even though it is in a rock, or in the heavens or in the earth, Allah will bring it (before you in your life film on the Day of Resurrection). Surely Allah is Subtle (Owner of subtleties), All-Aware. (16)
31/Luqman-17: Yea bunayya akımıs saaleata va’mur bil maa’roofi vanha aanil munkari vaasbir aalea mea aseabak(aseabaka), inna zealika min aazmil umoor(umoori).
O my child, keep up the Prayer! Enjoin Al-Ma rûf (command with religious knowledge and goodness) and forbid from Al-Munkar (denial, all that Allah has forbidden and evil) and bear with patience whatever befalls you. Surely these are of the affairs to be dedicated (fulfilled) upon. (17)
31/Luqman-18: Va lea tusaa’ir haaddaka lin neasi va lea tamshi feel aardı maraahea(maraahaan) innalleaha lea yuhıbbu kulla muhtealin fahoor(fahoorin).
And do not turn your face away from people (in pride) nor go about in the land exulting over much. Surely Allah does not love any self-conceited boaster. (18)
31/Luqman-19: Vaaksid fee mashyika vaagdud min saavtik(saavtika), inna ankaral aasveati la saavtul haameer(haameeri).
Be modest in your walking and lower your voice. Surely the ugliest of all voices is the braying of the donkey. (19)
31/Luqman-20: A lam tarav annalleaha sahhaara lakum mea fees sameaveati va mea feel aardı va asbagaa aalaykum niaamahu zeahiratan va beatınah(beatınatan), va minan neasi man yuceadilu feelleahi bi gaayri ilmin va lea hudan va lea kiteabin muneer(muneerin).
Did you not see that Allah has made what is in the heavens and what is in the earth subservient to you? And completed His visible and invisible (outwardly and inwardly) blessings upon you? Yet of mankind are those who dispute concerning Allah without knowledge or someone who made them reach Hidayet, or an enlightening Book. (20)
31/Luqman-21: Va izea keela lahumuttabioo mea anzalaalleahu kealoo bal nattabiu mea vacadnea aalayhi eabeaanea, a va lav keanash shayteanu yad’oohum ilea aazeabis saaeer(saaeeri).
And when it is said to them: “Follow what (the Book) Allah has sent down”, they say: “Nay, we follow that (the idols) on which we found our fathers”. What! Though Satan calls them to the torment of the burning fire (Hell)? (21)
31/Luqman-22: Va man yuslim vachahu ilealleahi va huva muhsinun fa kaadistamsaka bil urvatil vuskea, va ilealleahi eakibatul umoor(umoori).
And whoever surrenders his face (his physical body) to Allah as a Muhsin (a good-doer), then he verily grasped the firmest hand-hold and the end of the affairs is to Allah (reaches Allah). (22)
31/Luqman-23: Va man kafara fa lea yaahzunka kufruh(kufruhu), ilaynea marciuhum fa nunabbiuhum bi mea aamil(aamiloo), innaalleaha aaleemun bi zeatis sudoor(sudoori).
And whoever disbelieves let not his disbelief grieve you! Their return is to Us, then will We inform them (their deeds) of what they did. Surely Allah is All-Knowing of what is in the bosoms. (23)
31/Luqman-24: Numattiuhum kaaleelan summa naadtaarruhum ilea aazeabin gaaleez(gaaleezin).
We give them subsistence a little, then We expose them to a heavy torment. (24)
31/Luqman-25: Va la in saaltahum man haalaakaas sameaveati val aardaa la yakoolunnalleah(yakoolunnalleahu), kulil haamdulilleah(haamdulilleahi), bal aksaruhum lea yaa’lamoon(yaa’lamoona).
And if you ask them: “Who created the heavens and the earth?” they certainly say: “Allah”. Say: “All praise is due to Allah”. Nay! Most of them do not know. (25)
31/Luqman-26: Lilleahi mea fees sameaveati val aard(aardı), innaalleaha huval gaaniyyul haameed(haameedu).
What is in the heavens and the earth is Allah’s. Surely Allah, He is Self-Sufficient (All-Rich, Free of all needs), the All-Praised. (26)
31/Luqman-27: Va lav anna mea feel aardı min shacaratin aakleamun val baahru yamudduhu min baa’dihee sab’aatu abhurin mea nafidat kalimeatulleah(kalimeatulleahi), innalleaha aazeezun haakeem(haakeemun).
And if all the trees on the earth were pens and the sea (were ink), with seven more seas to help it, the Words of Allah would not be exhausted. Surely Allah is All-Mighty, All-Wise. (27)
31/Luqman-28: Mea haalkukum va lea baa’sukum illea ka nafsin veahıdah(veahıdatin), innaalleaha sameeun baaseer(baaseerun).
Your creation and your raising (resurrection) are anything but creation of a single soul. Surely Allah is All-Hearing, All-Seeing. (28)
31/Luqman-29: A lam tara annaalleaha yoolicul layla feen naheari va yoolicun naheara feel layli, va sahhaarash shamsa val kaamara kullun yacree ilea acalin musamman va annaalleaha bi mea taa’maloona haabeer(haabeerun).
Did you not see that Allah causes the night to pass into the day and causes the day to pass into the night? (Allah) has subjected the sun and the moon (to His command). Each pursues its course (orbit) till an appointed term. Surely Allah is All-Informed of what you do. (29)
31/Luqman-30: Zealika bi annalleaha huval haakku va anna mea yad’oona min doonihil beatılu va annaalleaha huval aaliyyul kabeer(kabeeru).
This is because Allah is the Truth, and that which they worship besides Him is the falsehood. Certainly Allah, He is the Most Exalted, the Greatest. (30)
31/Luqman-31: A lam tara annal fulka tacree feel baahri bi ni’matilleahi li yuriyakum min eayeatih(eayeatihee) inna fee zealika la eayeatin li kulli saabbearin shakoor(shakoorin).
Did you not see that the ships sail through the sea by Allah’s Blessing? Just to show you of His Signs. Most surely there are Signs in this for every patiently endured, grateful one. (31)
31/Luqman-32: Va izea gaashiyahum mavcun kaz zulali daaavoolleaha muhliseena lahud deen(deena), fa lammea nacceahum ilal barri fa minhum muktasıd(muktasidun), va mea yachaadu bi eayeatinea illea kullu haattearin kafoor(kafoorin).
And when the waves overwhelm them like dark shadows, they call upon Allah, making their religion pure for Him only. Then when We bring them safe to the land, then some of them follow the middle course (don’t go extravagant). None denies knowingly Our Verses but every very perfidious, very ungrateful one. (32)
31/Luqman-33: Yea ayyuhan neasuttakoo raabbakum vaahshav yavman lea yaczee vealidun aan valadihee va lea mavloodun huva ceazin aan vealidihee shay’ea(shay’an) inna vaa’daalleahi haakkun fa lea tagurrannakumul haayeatud dunyea, va lea yaagurrannakum billeahil gaaroor(gaarooru).
O mankind! Have piety towards your Lord and dread the Day when a father will not be able to answer (help) his son nor will the son be able to answer his father. Surely the Promise of Allah is the truth, therefore let not the life of the world deceive you, nor let the Garûr (Lucifer) deceive you with Allah. (33)
31/Luqman-34: Innaalleaha indahu ilmus seaaah(seaaati), va yunazzilul gaays(gaaysa), va yaa’lamu mea feel arheam(arheami), va mea tadree nafsun meazea taksibu gaadea(gaadan), va mea tadree nafsun bi ayyi aardın tamoot(tamootu), innaalleaha aaleemun haabeer(haabeerun).
Surely in Allah’s Presence is the knowledge of the Hour (of the Day of Resurrection) and He sends down the rain and He knows what is in the wombs. No one knows what they will earn tomorrow and no one knows in what land they will die. Surely Allah is All-Knowing, All-Aware. (34)
