Surah At-Tawbah

9/At-Tawbah-1: Bareaatun minaalleahi va rasoolihee ileallazeena eahadtum minal mushrikeen (mushrikeena).
This is an (a warning) exoneration from Allah and His Messenger to those of the associators with whom you made an agreement. (1)
9/At-Tawbah-2: Faseehoo fil aardı arbaaata ashhurin vaa'lamoo annakum gaayru mu'cizeelleahi va annaalleaha muhzeel keafireen(keafireena).
So go about in the land for four months and know that you cannot weaken Allah and that Allah will disgrace the disbelievers. (2)
9/At-Tawbah-3: Va azaanun minaalleahi va rasoolihee ilean neasi yavmal haaccıl akbari annaalleaha bareeun minal mushrikeena va rasooluhu, fa in tubtum fa huva haayrun lakum, va in tavallaytum faa'lamoo annakum gaayru mu'cizeelleah (mu'cizeelleahi), va bashshirillazeena kafaroo bi aazeabin aleem(aleemin).
And a proclamation from Allah and His Messenger to all men on the day of the Greater Pilgrimage (Hacc'ul Akbar) that Allah and His Messenger are away from the associators. Therefore if you repent, it (your repenting) will be better for you, and if you turn back, then know that you will not weaken Allah. And give tidings (warning) of a painful torment to those who disbelieve. (3)
9/At-Tawbah-4: Illeallazeena eahadtum minal mushrikeena summa lam yaankusookum shay'an va lam yuzeahiroo aalaykum ahaadan fa atimmoo ilayhim aahdahum ilea muddatihim, innaalleaha yuhıbbul muttakeen (muttakeena).
Except those of the associators with whom you have made a treaty, then they have not failed you in anything and have not backed up any one against you. So fulfill their treaty to the end of their term. Surely Allah loves those who are the owners of piety (Takwâ). (4)
9/At-Tawbah-5: Fa izeansalahaal ashhurul hurumu faaktulool mushrikeena haaysu vacadtumoohum va huzoohum vaahsuroohum vaak'udoo lahum kulla maarsaad (maarsaadin), fa in teaboo va akeamoos saaleata va eatooz zakeata fa haalloo sabeelahum, innaalleaha gaafoorun raaheem(raaheemun).
So when the Sacred Months have passed away, then kill the associators wherever you find them, and take them captives and besiege them. And sit in every look out place (scrutinize them). Then if they repent and keep up the prayer and pay Alms (the Zakât), let them on their way. Surely Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. (5)
9/At-Tawbah-6: Va in ahaadun minal mushrikeenastacearaka fa acirhu haattea yasmaaa kaleamaalleahi summa ablighu ma'manahu, zealika bi annahum kaavmun lea yaa'lamoon(yaa'lamoona).
And if one of the associators seeks help from you, grant him protection till he hears the Word of Allah. Then deliver him to his place of safety. This is because they are a people who do not know. (6)
9/At-Tawbah-7: Kayfa yakoonu lil mushrikeena aahdun indaalleahi va inda rasoolihee illeallazeena eahadtum indal mascidil haaream(haareami), fa meastakeamoo lakum fastakeemoo lahum, innaalleaha yuhıbbul muttakeen(muttakeena).
How can there be a covenant with Allah and with His Messenger for the associators? Except those with whom you made a covenant near Mescid-i Haram? So as long as they are true to you (if they fulfill their covenant), be true to them (fulfill your covenant). Surely Allah loves the owners of piety (Takwâ). (7)
9/At-Tawbah-8: Kayfa va in yaazharoo aalaykum lea yarkuboo feekum illan va lea zimmat (zimmatan), yurdoonakum bi afveahihim va ta'bea kuloobuhum, va aksaruhum feasikoon(feasikoona).
How can there be (such a covenant with them)? If they gain force against you (if they back up each other), they would not respect ties of kinship or covenant with you (the rights you have on account of your covenant) they please you with their tongues while their hearts are averse to you, and most of them are Fâsiqûn (those who are not in the Way of Allah or have gone out of it). (8)
9/At-Tawbah-9: Ishtarav bi eayeatilleahi samanan kaaleelan fa saaddoo aan sabeelihee, innahum seaa mea keanoo yaa'maloon(yaa'maloona).
They have sold the Verses of Allah for a trifling price. So they hindered (others) from His Way (they prevented others from Sıratı Mustakîm). Evil indeed is that which they used to do. (9)
9/At-Tawbah-10: Lea yarkuboona fee mu'minin illan va lea zimmah(zimmatan), va uleaika humul mu'tadoon(mu'tadoona).
They do not respect either kinship (ties of relationship) nor covenant towards the believers (they do not pay back the believers). It is they who are the transgressors. (10)
9/At-Tawbah-11: Fa in teaboo va akeamus saaleata va eatuz zakeata fa ıhveanukum feed deen (deeni), va nufaassılul eayeati li kaavmin yaa'lamoon(yaa'lamoona).
Yet if they repent (before the Messenger by wishing to reach Allah before death) and keep up the prayer and pay Alms (the Zakât), then they are your brethren in religion. And We explain the Verses in detail for a people who know. (11)
9/At-Tawbah-12: Va in nakasoo aymeanahum min baa'di aahdihim va taaaanoo fee deenikum fa keatiloo aimmatal kufri innahum lea aymeana lahum laaallahum yantahoon(yantahoona).
And if they break their oaths after their covenant and revile your religion, then fight the leaders of disbelief. Surely they have (indeed) no oaths so that they may desist. (12)
9/At-Tawbah-13: A lea tukeatiloona kaavman nakasoo aymeanahum va hammoo bi ihreacir rasooli va hum badaookum avvala marraah(marraatin), a taahshavnahum, faalleahu ahaakku an taahshavhu in kuntum mu'mineen(mu'mineena).
Will you not fight a people who broke their oaths? And they aimed at the expulsion of the Prophet (from his home) and they attacked you first. Do you fear them? But Allah is most deserving that you should fear Him, if you are believers. (13)
9/At-Tawbah-14: Keatiloohum yuaazzibhumulleahu bi aydeekum va yuhzihim va yaansurkum aalayhim va yashfi sudoora kaavmin mu'mineen(mu'mineena).
Fight against them. Allah torments them by your hands and disgraces them. And assist you against them (give you victory over them). And heals the breasts of a believing people. (14)
9/At-Tawbah-15: Va yuzhib gaayzaa kuloobihim, va yatoobulleahu aalea man yasheau, vaalleahu aaleemun haakeem(haakeemun).
And removes the rage from their hearts and Allah accepts the repentance of whom He wills. And Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise. (15)
9/At-Tawbah-16: Am haasibtum an tutrakoo va lammea yaa'lamilleahullazeena ceahadoo minkum va lam yattahızoo min doonilleahi va lea rasoolihee va leal mu'mineena valeecah(valeecatan), vaalleahu haabeerun bi mea taa'maloon(taa'maloona).
Did you think that you would be left alone while Allah has known those of you who have striven hard and have not taken any one as an adherent besides Allah and His Messenger and the believers? And Allah is Well-Acquainted with what you do. (16)
9/At-Tawbah-17: Mea keana lil mushrikeena an yaa'muroo maseacidaalleahi sheahideena aalea anfusihim bil kufr(kufri), uleaika haabitaat aa'mealuhum va feen neari hum healidoon (healidoona).
It is not for the associators to build the mosques of Allah while bearing witness to disbelief against themselves (their own souls). As for such, their deeds are in vain. And in the Fire they shall abide forever. (17)
9/At-Tawbah-18: Innamea yaa'muru maseacidaalleahi man eamana billeahi val yavmil eahıri va akeamas saaleata va eataz zakeata va lam yaahsha illealleaha fa aasea uleaika an yakoonoo minal muhtadeen(muhtadeena).
None should build the mosques of Allah except those who believe in Allah and the latter day (to have the spirit return back to Allah before death) and keep up the prayer and pay Alms (the Zakât) and fear none but Allah. So as for these, it may be that they are of those who have attained to Guidance (Hidayet). (18)
9/At-Tawbah-19: A caaaltum sikeayatal heacci va ımearaatal mascidil haareami ka man eamana billeahi val yavmil eahıri va ceahada fee sabililleah(sabililleahi), lea yastavoona indaalleah(indaalleahi), vaalleahu lea yahdeel kaavmaz zealimeen(zealimeena).
Have you made the providing of water for the pilgrim and the building of Al-Masjid Al-Haram equal to one who believes in Allah and the Last Day and strives in the cause of Allah? They are not equal in the presence of Allah. And Allah does not guide the unjust people (and Allah does not make the unjust people attain Hidayet). (19)
9/At-Tawbah-20: Allazeena eamanoo va heacaroo va ceahadoo fee sabeelilleahi bi amvealihim va anfusihim aa'zaamu daracatan indaalleah(indaalleahi) va uleaika humul feaizoon (feaizoona).
Those who believed and emigrated and strove hard in Allah’s Way with their property and their souls, are much higher in rank with Allah. And those are they who are in Salvation. (20)
9/At-Tawbah-21: Yubashshiruhum raabbuhum bi raahmatin minhu va rıdveanin va canneatin lahum feehea naaeemun mukeem(mukeemun).
Their Lord gives them glad tidings of Mercy from Him, and being pleased (with them) and of Paradise for them wherein are everlasting Blessings. (21)
9/At-Tawbah-22: Healideena feehea abadea(abadan), innaalleaha indahoo acrun aazeem (aazeemun).
Abiding therein forever. Verily, with Allah is a Great Reward (a Great Wage, Ecrun Azîm). (22)
9/At-Tawbah-23: Yea ayyuheallazeena eamanoo lea tattahızoo eabeaakum va ihveanakum avliyeaa inistahaabbool kufra aaleal eemeani, va man yatavallahum minkum fa uleaika humuz zealimoon(zealimoona).
O you who believe (who are âmenû)! Do not take your fathers and brothers for friends if they prefer disbelief to Belief. Whoever of you takes them for friends; these it is that are the wrong-doers. (23)
9/At-Tawbah-24: Kul in keana eabeaukum va abneaukum va ıhveanukum va azveacukum va aasheeratukum va amvealunıktaraftumoohea va ticearaatun taahshavna kaseadahea va maseakinu tardaavnahea ahaabba ilaykum minaalleahi va rasoolihee va ciheadin fee sabeelihee fa taraabbasoo haattea ya'tiyaalleahu bi amrihee, vaalleahu lea yahdeel kaavmal faasikeen(faasikeena).
Say: “If your fathers and your sons and your brothers and your mates and your kinsfolk and property which you have acquired, and the slackness of trade which you fear and dwellings in which you delight are dearer to you than Allah and His Messenger and striving hard in His Way, then wait till Allah brings about His Command”. And Allah does not guide the transgressing people to attain Guidance (Hidayet). (24)
9/At-Tawbah-25: Lakaad naasaaraakumulleahu fee maveatına kaseeraatin va yavma hunaynin iz aa'cabatkum kasratukum fa lam tugni aankum shay'an va deakaat aalaykumul aardu bi mea raahubat summa vallaytum mudbireen(mudbireena).
Allah has already helped you on many battlefields and on the day of Hunain. You rejoiced at your great numbers, but they availed you nothing. The earth became strait to you in spite of its spaciousness. Then you turned to your back again. (25)
9/At-Tawbah-26: Summa anzalaalleahu sakeenatahu aalea rasoolihee va aaleal mu'mineena va anzala cunoodan lam taravhea va aazzaballazeena kafaroo va zealika cazeaul keafireen(keafireena).
Then Allah did send down His Sakînah (calmness, tranquility and reassurance) upon His Messenger and upon the believers. And sent down an army which you could not see and tormented those who disbelieved. And that is the punishment of the disbelievers. (26)
9/At-Tawbah-27: Summa yatoobulleahu min baa'di zealika aalea man yasheau, vaalleahu gaafoorun raaheem(raaheemun).
Then after that, Allah accepts the repentance of whom He wills. And Allah is Oft-Forgiving (the One who converts evil deeds into merits), Most Merciful (the One who sends down the light of Mercy). (27)
9/At-Tawbah-28: Yea ayyuheallazeena eamanoo innameal mushrikoona nacasun fa lea yaakraabool mascidal haareama baa’da eamihim heazea va in hıftum aaylatan fa savfa yugneekumulleahu min faadlihee in sheaa, innaalleaha aaleemun haakeem(haakeemun).
O you who believe (who wish to reach Allah before death)! The associators are nothing but filth (impure). Let them not approach Mescid-i Haram (the Sacred Mosque) after this year. If you fear poverty, Allah will enrich you if He wills, out of His Virtue. Surely, Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise. (28)
9/At-Tawbah-29: Keatiloollazeena lea yu’minoona billeahi va lea bil yavmil eahıri va lea yuhaarrimoona mea haarraamaalleahu va rasooluhu va lea yadeenoona deenal haakkı minallazeena ootool kiteaba haattea yu’tool cizyata aan yadin va hum seagiroon(seagiroona).
Fight those who do not believe in Allah or in the Last Day (in reaching Allah before death) and who do not consider unlawful what Allah and His Messenger have made unlawful and who do not adopt the religion of truth from those who were given the Scripture until they give the Jizyah (tax) willingly while they are humbled. (29)
9/At-Tawbah-30: Va kealatil yaahoodu uzayrunibnulleahi va kealatin naaseareal maseehubnulleah(maseehubnulleahi) zealika kaavluhum bi afveahihim yudeahioona kaavlallazeena kafaroo min kaablu keatalahumulleah(keatalahumulleahu) annea yu'fakoon(yu'fakoona).
And the Jews said: “Uzair (Ezra) is the son of Allah”, and the Christians said: “Messiah is the son of Allah”. The words of their mouths imitate the saying of those who disbelieved before. May Allah destroy them. How they are turned away! (30)
9/At-Tawbah-31: Ittahaazoo aahbearaahum va ruhbeanahum arbeaban min doonilleahi val maseehaabna maryam(maryama), va mea umiroo illea li yaa'budoo ileahan veahidea (veahidan),lea ileaha illea huva, subheanahu aammea yushrikoon(yushrikoona).
They have taken their Ahbar (Jewish clergy) and their Ruhban (priests) for lords besides Allah and (also) the Messiah, son of Mary. They were enjoined that they should be the servants to one God only. There is no god but He. Far from His Glory be what they associate (with Him). (31)

They want to put out the Light of Allah with their mouths. And Allah does not want anything but to complete His Light, even though the disbelievers detest. (32)

It is He Who sends His Messenger with Guidance and the Religion of truth, that He might cause it (this Religion) to prevail over all religions (that this is the true religion), though the associators may detest. (33)

O you who believe (who wish to reach Allah before death)! Indeed many of the Ahbar (Rabbis) and the Ruhban (Priests) devour the property of the people in falsehood, and hinder them from the Way of Allah. And those who hoard up gold and silver and do not spend it in the Way of Allah, give tidings unto them of a painful torment. (34)

On the Day when (iron) shall be heated in the Fire of Hell, then their foreheads and their sides and their backs shall be branded with it. This is what you hoarded up for yourselves (your own souls) therefore taste what you used to hoard. (35)

Indeed, the number of months with Allah is twelve months in the Book of Allah the day He created the heavens and the earth, of these four being sacred. This is the lasting religion (that will continue from the Pre-eternity till the Post-Eternity). Therefore do not wrong your own souls therein. Fight with the associators altogether just as they themselves fight against you altogether. And know that Allah is with the owners of piety (Takwâ). (36)

Leaving (postponing) (of the sacred months) is only an addition in disbelief. With it those who disbelieve are led astray. They make it (the postponed month) lawful one year and forbid it (the postponed month) another year in order to adjust the number (of the sacred) months that Allah has forbidden and make such forbidden ones lawful. The evil of their deeds is made fair-seeming to them. And Allah does not cause the disbelieving people to attain Guidance (Hidayet). (37)

O you who believe (who wish to reach Allah before death)! What is the matter with you that when you are asked to go forth to struggle (struggling against your souls to render your spirit to Allah) (struggle against the disbelievers and your enemies) in the Way of Allah you cling (your spirit still did not start to its journey towards Allah) (you did not join the Islamic army to fight) heavily to the earth? Are you pleased with the life of this world rather than (rendering your spirit) the Hereafter? But little is the offering (provision, comfort) of this world as compared to (rendering the spirit back to Allah) the Hereafter. (38)

If you do not march forth (having your spirit get on the Sirat-i Mustakim to reach Allah) (voluntarily go to war), He will torment you with a painful torment and will replace you by another people. You cannot harm Him at all in any way, and Allah has Power over all things. (39)

If you do not help him (when you did not help him), Allah did help him (Rasul). When the disbelievers expelled him (when the disbelievers forced him to go out of Makkah) he was the second of the two, when they were both in the cave. When they were in the cave, he said to his companion: “Do not grieve, surely Allah is with us”. Then Allah sent down His Sakînah (calmness, tranquility) upon him and strengthened him with armies which you could not see. He (Allah) made lowest the word of those who disbelieved. And the Word of Allah, that is the highest and Allah is All-Mighty, All-Wise. (40)

Had it been a near gain (booty in front of them) and an easy journey, they would have followed you, but the distance seemed too far to them. They shall swear by Allah: “If we had been able, we would surely have come forth with you”. They destroy themselves (their souls), and Allah knows that they are most surely liars. (42)

And if they had wished to go forth, they would surely have made some preparation for it (war), but Allah disliked their state. So He held them back and it was said to them: Sit with those who stay behind. (46)

Had they gone forth with you, they would have added nothing except disorder. They would have been active among you, seeking you Fitnah, and among you. There are those who would listen to them, and Allah knows the wrong-doers. (47)

Say: “He is an ear of goodness for you (He hears what you say, accepts it; he is an ear of goodness because he does not deny you and not because he does not know it)”. He believes in Allah and has faith in the believers. And he is a mercy for those of you who believe (who are âmenû). For those who persecute the Messenger of Allah (those who say improper words to him, who criticize him) there is a painful torment. (61)

9/At-Tawbah-63: A lam yaa’lamoo annahu man yuheadidilleaha va rasoolahu fa anna lahu neara cahannama healidan feehea, zealikal hızyul aazeem(aazeemu).
Do they not know that whoever exceeds the limits against Allah and His Messenger, certainly for him will be the Fire of Hell to abide therein forever? That is the great abasement. (63)

The hypocrites fear lest a chapter (Surah) should be sent down to them telling them plainly of what is in their hearts. Say: “Go on mocking, surely Allah will bring forth what you fear”. (64)

And if you should question them, they would certainly say: “We were only idly discoursing and joking”. Say: “Is it Allah and His Verses and His Messenger that you were mocking”? (65)

Do not invent excuses. You have indeed disbelieved after your belief. If We pardon a party of you; We will torment (another) party because they are guilty. (66)

The hypocrite men and hypocrite women are of one another. They enjoin Al-Munkar (evil) and forbid from All-Ma’rûf (good) and withhold their hands (they act niggardly). They have forgotten Allah, so He has forgotten them. Indeed the hypocrites are Al-Fâsiqûn. (67)

Allah has promised the hypocrite men and hypocrite women and the disbelievers the fire of Hell to abide therein forever. It (hell) is enough for them. And Allah has cursed them and for them there is a lasting torment. (68)

You are like those before you. They were stronger than you in power and more abundant in wealth and children. So they enjoyed their portion; thus have you enjoyed your portion as those before you enjoyed their portion. And you have engaged (in worldly things) like that in which they engaged. These are they whose deeds are in vain. These are they who are the losers. (69)

Has not the news of those before them come to them; of the people of Noah (Nûh), ‘Âd, and Thamûd, the people of Abraham, the dwellers of Madyan and the overturned cities. Their Messengers came to them with the clear proofs. So it was not Allah Who wronged them, but they used to wrong themselves. (70)

And the believing men and the believing women, they are friends of each other. They enjoin Al-Ma’rûf and forbid from Al-Munkar and keep up the prayer and give alms (the Zakât) and obey Allah and His Messenger. These, Allah will show mercy to them. Surely Allah is All-Mighty, All-Wise. (71)

Allah has promised to the believing men and the believing women Heavens under which the rivers flow to abide in them forever. Good and clean mansions in Gardens of Adn. The greatest (of all these) is a Pleasure of Allah. That is the greatest Salvation. (72)

O Nebî (Prophet)! Strive hard against the disbelievers and the hypocrites, and be unyielding to them. And their abode is Hell, and evil is the destination. (73)

They swear by Allah that they said nothing, and certainly they did say the word of disbelief and did disbelieve after their Islam and they had resolved to do that which they have not been able to reach and what they wanted to avenge was only this, that Allah and His Messenger enriched them out of His Virtue. Then if they repent, it will be better for them; and if they turn back (from faith), Allah will torment them with a painful torment in this world and in the Hereafter. And there is none for them on earth as a friend or a helper. (74)
9/At-Tawbah-75: Va minhum man eahadaalleaha la in eateanea min faadlihee la nassaaddakaanna va la nakoonanna minas sealiheen(sealiheena).
And there are those of them who made a covenant with Allah: “If He gives us out of His Virtue, we will certainly give alms and we will certainly be of the Sâlihîn (improved ones)”. (75)
9/At-Tawbah-76: Fa lammea eateahum min faadlihee baahıloo bihee va tavallav va hum mu’ridoon(mu’ridoona).
But when He gave them out of His Virtue, they became niggardly of it (of what He gave them) and they turned away (from their covenant) and they withdrew. (76)

So He penalized them with hypocrisy in their hearts until the Day they will meet Him - because they failed Allah in what they promised Him and because they used to lie. (77)

9/At-Tawbah-78: A lam yaa’lamoo annaalleaha yaa’lamu sırraahum va nacveahum va annaalleaha aalleamul guyoob(guyoobi).

They criticize the contributors among the believers concerning charities and the ones who find nothing except their effort, and scoff at them. Allah paid them back their scoffing, and for them there shall be a painful torment. (79)

Ask forgiveness for them or do not ask forgiveness for them. Even if you ask forgiveness for them seventy times, Allah will not forgive them. This is because they disbelieve in Allah and His Messenger. And Allah does not deliver the transgressing people to Hidayet (Guidance). (80)

Those who stayed behind (disbelievers) rejoiced at their staying and sitting opposing the Messenger of Allah. They were averse from striving and fighting in the Way of Allah with their property and their souls (lives). And said: “Do not go to war in the heat”. Say: “The Fire of Hell is more intense in heat”. If only they could understand! (81)

So let them laugh a little and cry much as a recompense of what they used to earn. (82)

Therefore if Allah brings you back to a party of them (disbelievers), and then ask your permission to go forth, say: “By no means shall you ever go forth with me and by no means shall you fight an enemy with me; surely you were pleased to sit still the first time, therefore sit still with those who remained behind”. (83)

Never offer prayer for any of them who dies, and do not stand by his grave. Because they disbelieved in Allah and His Messenger, and died while they were Fâsiqûn (they were not in the Way of Allah). (84)

And let not their property and their children impress you. Allah only wishes to torment them with these (property and children) in this world and their souls to depart while they are disbelievers. (85)

There is no blame on those who are weak or ill or who find no resources to spend, if they advise (and remain true to their advise) for Allah and His Messenger. They will make excuses to you when you have returned to them. Say: “Make no excuses; by no means will we believe you. Indeed Allah has already informed us of the news (case) concerning you. Allah and His Messenger will see your doings. Then you shall be brought back to the All-Knower of the Unseen and the Seen, then He will inform you of what you used to do”. (94)

They will swear to you by Allah when you return to them so that you may turn your faces away from them. So do turn your faces away from them. Surely, they are unclean and their abode is Hell as a recompense for what they used to earn. (95)
9/At-Tawbah-96: Yaahlifoona lakum li tardaav aanhum, fa in tardaav aanhum fa innaalleaha lea yardea aanil kaavmil feasikeen(feasikeena).
They swear to you that you may be pleased with them. Even if you are pleased with them, surely Allah is not pleased with the Fâsiqûn people. (96)

The Bedouins are the worst in disbelief and hypocrisy and more disposed not to know the limits of what Allah has sent down to His Messenger. And Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise (owner of decision). (97)

And of the Bedouins there are some who take what they spend to be a loss. And they watch for the changing of the time and bad times to be on you. May the calamity of evil be on them! And Allah is All-Hearing, All-Knowing. (98)

And of the Bedouins there are some who believe in Allah and the latter day (the day of reaching Allah before death) and take what they spend as means of nearness in the presence of Allah and in the Messenger’s prayers. Indeed these (spending in Allah’s Way) are a means of nearness for them, are they not? Allah will make them enter into His Mercy. Surely Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful (the One who sends the Light of Mercy). (99)

The Sabikûn-el Evvelîn (out of those who competed in good works, those who are charged with and authorized to the Salâh by delivering their free will to Allah at the Rank of Irshad) were of the Emigrants (those who migrated from Makkah to Al-Madinah) and the Helpers (the citizens of Al-Madinah who helped the Emigrants) and those who depended on them (emigrants and helpers) with Ihsân (blessings), (Companions were at Irshad post and others depended on them). Allah is well pleased with them and they are well pleased with Him. Allah has prepared for them Heavens under which the rivers flow, to abide in them forever. That is the Supreme Reward. (100)

And among those around you of the Bedouins are hypocrites, and from the people of the city some are accustomed to hypocrisy. You do not know them. We know them. We will torment them twice, then shall they be turned back to a tremendous torment. (101)

And others (some of those who have remained behind from the war) have confessed their sins. They have mixed an improving deed and an evil one. It is hoped that Allah will accept their repentance. Surely Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. (102)

Take alms out of their property, and clean and cleanse them thereby and pray for them; surely your prayer is a relief (peace) to them. And Allah is All-Hearing, All-Knowing. (103)
9/At-Tawbah-104: A lam yaa’lamoo annaalleaha huva yaakbalut tavbata aan ibeadihee va ya’huzus saadaakeati va annaalleaha huvat tavveabur raaheem(raaheemu).
Do they not know that Allah accepts repentance from His servants and takes the alms. And verily Allah is the Most Forgiving, the Most Merciful. (104)
9/At-Tawbah-105: Va kuli’maloo fa sa yarealleahu aamalakum va rasooluhu val mu’minoon(mu’minoona), va sa turaddoona ilea ealimil gaaybi vash shaheadati fa yunabbiukum bi mea kuntum taa’maloon(taa’maloona).
Say: “Do (whatever you want). Allah, His Messenger and the believers will see your deeds. You shall be brought back to the Knower of the Unseen and the Seen, then He will inform you of what you used to do”. (105)
9/At-Tawbah-106: Va eahaaroona murcavna li amrilleahi immea yuaazzibuhum va immea yatoobu aalayhim, vaalleahu aaleemun haakeem(haakeemun).
And the others deferred until the command of Allah. He will either torment them or He will turn to them in forgiveness. And Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise. (106)
9/At-Tawbah-107: Vallazeenattahaazoo mascidan dırearaan va kufraan va tafreekaan baynal mu’mineena va irseadan li man hearaabaalleaha va rasoolahu min kaabl(kaablu), va la yaahlifunna in aradnea illeal husnea, vaalleahu yashhadu innahum la keaziboon(keaziboona).
And those who took for themselves a Masjid (Masjid-i Dirar) for causing harm and (the strengthening of) disbelief and division among the believers and as a (observation) station for whoever had warred against Allah and His Messenger before. And they surely swear: “We intended only the best” and Allah bears witness that they are certainly liars. (107)
9/At-Tawbah-108: Lea takum feehi abadea(abadan), la mascidun ussisa aaleat taakvea min avvali yavmin ahaakku an takooma feehi, feehi ricealun yuhıbboona an yatataahharoo, vaalleahu yuhıbbul muttaahhireen(muttaahhireena).
Do not ever pray there. Certainly a Masjid founded on Piety (Takwâ) from the very first day is more worthy to pray in it. Within it are men who love to purify (their hearts) themselves. And Allah loves those who are purified. (108)

Is it then he who founds his building on Piety towards Allah and His Pleasure better, or he who lays the foundation of his building on the brink of a crumbling precipice ready to crumble down. So that he crumbles with it into the Fire of Hell. And Allah does not deliver the unjust people to Hidayet. (109)
9/At-Tawbah-110: Lea yazealu bunyeanuhumullazee banav reebatan fee kuloobihim illea an takaattaaaa kuloobuhum, vaalleahu aaleemun haakeem(haakeemun).
The building which they have built will ever continue to be a source of hypocrisy and suspicion in their hearts, until their hearts get cut into pieces. And Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise. (110)

Surely Allah has bought from the believers who fight in the Way of Allah, so they kill and are killed, their lives and their property for that they will have Paradise. It is a promise in truth which is binding on Him in the Torah and the Gospel and the Qur’ân. And who is truer to his covenant than Allah? Then rejoice in your bargain which you have made with Him. That is the Supreme Reward (Fevzu’l Azîm). (111)

Give glad tidings to those who turn to Allah in repentance, who serve (Him), who praise Him, who fast or travel (who emigrate in the Way of Allah, who go forth in order to fight or exalt the Name of Allah, to strengthen his religion, to render service in the Way of Allah, to study, to travel through the world to take a lesson and to reflect, the fasters, the travelers), who bow down, who prostrate themselves, who enjoin what is good, and forbid from what is evil and who keep the limits of Allah and the believers! (112)

It is not (proper) for a Prophet and those who believe (who are âmenû) to ask for forgiveness for the associators even though they should be near relatives after it has become clear to them that they are inmates of the flaming Fire. (113)

And Abraham’s invoking (of Allah) for his father’s forgiveness was only because of a promise he has made to him (his father). But when it became clear to him that he was an enemy of Allah, he disowned him. Most surely Abraham is very tenderhearted (Awwah), gentle (compassionate). (114)
9/At-Tawbah-115: Va mea keanaalleahu li yudılla kaavman baa’da iz hadeahum haattea yubayyina lahum mea yattakoon(yattakoona), innaalleaha bi kulli shay’in aaleem(aaleemun).
And Allah will never cause a people to fall into Misguidance after He has guided them into Hidayet, until He has made clear to them how they should be the owners of piety. Surely Allah is the All-Knowing. (115)
9/At-Tawbah-116: Innaalleaha lahu mulkus sameaveati val aard(aardı), yuhyee va yumeet(yumeetu), va mea lakum min doonilleahi min valiyyin va lea naaseer(naaseerin).
Surely Allah’s is the Sovereignty of the heavens and the earth. He gives life and causes death. There is not for you besides Allah any friend or helper. (116)

Certainly Allah has granted repentance to the Prophet and the Emigrants. In the hour of distress after their hearts were about to deviate (from the Faith) He granted repentance to the Helpers who depended on him and a group from them. Then He accepted their repentance. Surely to them He is full of Kindness, Most Merciful (the One Who sends the Light of Mercy). (117)
9/At-Tawbah-118: Va aaleas saleasatillazeena hullifoo, haattea izea deakaat aalayhimul aardu bimea raahubat va deakaat aalayhim anfusuhum va zaannoo an lea malcaa minaalleahi illea ilayhi, summa teaba aalayhim li yatooboo, innaalleaha huvat tavveabur raaheem(raaheemu).
And the three (per verse 106 - those who stayed behind from war and whose decree was postponed) who were left behind (He accepted their repentance as well). The earth became strait to them in spite of its spaciousness and their souls were also straitened to them. They knew it for certain that there was no refuge but Allah. Then He accepted their repentance that they might redeem their spirits back to Allah again. Surely Allah is the Accepter of repentance, the Most Merciful (the One Who sends the Light of Mercy). (118)
9/At-Tawbah-119: Yea ayyuheallazeena eamanoottakoolleaha va koonoo maaas seadikeen (seadikeena).
O you who believe (who wish to reach Allah before death)! Be the owners of piety towards Allah and be with the Sâdikîn (loyal ones). (119)

It is not (proper) for the people of Madinah and those surrounding them of the Bedouins that they remain behind after the Messenger of Allah or that they prefer their souls over his soul. This is because there afflicts them not thirst or fatigue or hunger in the Way of Allah, nor do they take any step which enrages the disbelievers, nor do they attain from the enemy what they attain, but an improving deed is written down to them on account of it; surely Allah does not waste the reward of the Muhsînin (good-doers). (120)
