Surah Fussilat

Bismillaah ir rahmaan ir raheem

41/Fussilat-1: Hea meem.
Hâ, Mîm. (1)
41/Fussilat-2: Tanzeelun minar raahmeanir raaheem(raaheemi).
Sent down by the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful (Allah). (2)
41/Fussilat-3: Kiteabun fussilat eayeatuhu kur’eanan aaraabiyyan li kaavmin yaa’lamoon(yaa’lamoona).
A Book of which the Verses are explained in detail, a Qur'ân in Arabic for a people who know. (3)
41/Fussilat-4: Basheeran va nazeerea(nazeeran), fa aa’raadaa aksaruhum fahum lea yasmaoon(yasmaoona).
As a herald of good news and a warner. But most of them have turned away. So they no longer hear. (4)
41/Fussilat-5: Va kealoo kuloobunea fee akinnatin mimmea tad’oonea ilayhi va fee eazeaninea vaakrun va min bayninea va baynika hiceabun faa’mal innanea eamiloon(eamiloona).
And they said: “Our hearts are under coverings (to prevent us from comprehension) from that, to which you call us, and there is heaviness in our ears, and a veil hangs between us and you. So do (whatever you want)! We too are the ones who will do whatever we want”. (5)
41/Fussilat-6: Kul innamea ana basharun mislukum yoohea ilayya annamea ileahukum ileahun veahidun fastakeemoo ilayhi vastaagfirooh(vastaagfiroohu), va vaylun lil mushrikeen(mushrikeena).
Say: “I am only a human being like you are. It is being revealed to me that your Deity is only One Deity. Therefore direct yourself to Him (turn to Him) and ask for forgiveness from Him. And woe to the associators (those who associate others with Him)”. (6)
41/Fussilat-7: Allazeena lea yoo’toonaz zakeata va hum bil eahirati hum keafiroon(keafiroona).
They do not give alms (Zakât). And they, they deny the hereafter (having their spirits reach Allah while they are alive). (7)
41/Fussilat-8: Innallazeena eamanoo va aamiloos sealiheati lahum acrun gaayru mamnoon(mamnoonin).
As for those who believe (who are âmenû, who wish to reach Allah before death) and do improving deeds (the soul's cleansing), there is surely a continuous reward. (8)
41/Fussilat-9: Kul a innakum la takfuroona billazee haalaakaal aardaa fee yavmayni va tac’aaloona lahoo andeadea(andeadan), zealika raabbul ealameen(ealameena).
Say: “Do you indeed disbelieve in Him Who created the earth in two Days? And do you set up equals with Him? That is the Lord of the Worlds”. (9)
41/Fussilat-10: Va caaala feehea raveasiya min favkıhea va bearaka feehea va kaaddara feehea aakveatahea fee arbaaati ayyeam(ayyeamin), saveaan lis seaileen(seaileena).
And there, He made on it firm mountains. And He blessed therein with abundance. Measured therein their foods (sustenance) in four Days, equally for the seekers. (10)
41/Fussilat-11: Summastavea ilas sameai va hiya duheanun fa keala lahea va lil aardı’tiyea taav’aan av karhea(karhan), kealatea ataynea teaieen(teaieena).
Then He directed towards the sky that was a smoke. Then (He) said to it (the sky) and the earth: “Come both of you willingly or unwillingly”. They both said: “We came willingly”. (11)
41/Fussilat-12: Fa kaadeahunna sab’aa sameaveatin fee yavmayni va avhea fee kulli sameain amrahea va zayyannas sameaad dunyea bi maseabeehaa va hıfzea(hıfzan), zealika taakdeerul aazeezil aaleem(aaleemi).
So He ordained (created) them seven layers in two Days. Revealed in every layer its command. And We adorned the skies of earth guarding with lamps. This is the Decree of the All-Mighty, All-Knowing (Allah). (12)
41/Fussilat-13: Fa in aa’raadoo fa kul anzartukum seaıkaatan misla seaıkaati eadin va samood(samooda).
If they still turn their faces, then say: “I have warned you of a thunderbolt, like the thunderbolt of Âd and Thamûd”. (13)
41/Fussilat-14: Iz ceaathumur rusulu min bayni aydeehim va min haalfihim allea taa’budoo illaalleah(illaalleaha), kealoo lav sheaa raabbunea la anzala maleaikatan fa innea bimea ursiltum bihee keafiroon(keafiroona).
When their Messengers came to them from before them and from behind (after) them, for them not to become servants to anything but Allah, they said: “If our Lord had willed, He would certainly have sent down angels. Therefore we are the ones who surely deny which you are sent with”. (14)
41/Fussilat-15: Fa ammea eadun fastakbaroo feel aardı bi gaayril haakkı va kealoo man ashaddu minnea kuvvah(kuvvatan), a va lam yarav annalleahallazee haalaakaahum huva ashaddu minhum kuvvah(kuvvatan) va keanoo bi eayeatinea yachaadoon(yachaadoona).
But the people of Âd became arrogant without a right in the land, and they said: “Who is mightier in strength than we”? Did they not see that Allah Who created them is mightier than they are, in strength? And they were denying our Verses knowingly, stubbornly. (15)
41/Fussilat-16: Fa arsalnea aalayhim reehaan saarsaaraan fee ayyeamin naahiseatin li nuzeekaahum aazeabal hizyi feel haayeatid dunyea, va la aazeabul eahirati aahzea va hum lea yunsaaroon(yunsaaroona).
Upon that, We sent on them a furious cold storm that comes with a violent sound in unlucky days, that We may make them taste the torment of abasement in the life of this world. And certainly the torment of the Hereafter is much more abasing, and they shall not be helped. (16)
41/Fussilat-17: Va ammea samoodu fa hadayneahum fastahaabbool aamea aalal hudea fa ahaazathum seaıkaatul aazeabil hooni bimea keanoo yaksiboon(yaksiboona).
And as to (people of) Thamûd, We have then delivered them to Hidayet. Yet, they preferred blindness towards Hidayet. Therefore a thunderbolt of an abasing torment seized them because of what they used to earn. (17)
41/Fussilat-18: Va naccaynallazeena eamanoo va keanoo yattakoon(yattakoona).
And We saved those who believed (those who wished to reach Allah while they were alive) and thus they had become the owners of piety. (18)
41/Fussilat-19: Va yavma yuhsharu aa’deaulleahi ilan neari fa hum yoozaoon(yoozaoona).
And on that Day, the enemies of Allah are gathered together to the Fire, so they (the ones before and after them) are brought together. (19)
41/Fussilat-20: Haattea izea mea ceaoohea shahida aalayhim sam’uhum va absearuhum va culooduhum bimea keanoo yaa’maloon(yaa’maloona).
Even when they came to it (to the Fire), their eyes, ears and skins (extremities) borne witness against them (in their life films) as to what they used to do. (20)
41/Fussilat-21: Va kealoo li culoodihim lima shahidtum aalaynea, kealoo antaakaanaalleahullazee antaakaa kulla shay’in va huva haalaakaakum avvala marratin va ilayhi turcaoon(turcaoona).
And they said to their own skins (extremities): “Why have you borne witness against us”? (They) said: “Allah Who makes everything speak has made us speak. He created you at first, and to Him you shall be brought back”. (21)
41/Fussilat-22: Va mea kuntum tastatiroona an yashhada aalaykum sam’ukum va lea absearukum va lea culoodukum va leakin zaanantum annalleaha lea yaa’lamu kaseeran mimmea taa’maloon(taa’maloona).
And you were not afraid that your ears, eyes and skins (extremities) to bear witness against you. And but you thought that Allah did not know most of what you were doing. (22)
41/Fussilat-23: Va zealikum zaannukumullazee zaanantum bi raabbikum ardeakum fa aasbaahtum minal heasireen(heasireena).
And that assumption of yours about your Lord has tumbled you down into perdition, so you became of those who have fallen into Loss. (23)
41/Fussilat-24: Fa in yaasbiroo fan nearu masvan lahum va in yastaa’tiboo fa mea hum minal mu’tabeen(mu’tabeena).
Then if they can endure, now the Fire is the abode for them, and if they seek to be pardoned, they are not of those who will be pardoned. (24)
41/Fussilat-25: Va kaayyaadnea lahum kuraneaa fa zayyanoo lahum mea bayna aydeehim va mea haalfahum va haakkaa aalayhimul kaavlu fee umamin kaad haalat min kaablihim minal cinni val ins(insi), innahum keanoo heasireen(heasireena).
And We have assigned for them intimate companions who have made fair-seeming to them, what is before them and what is behind them (what they have done and what they would do). The Word (of torment) proved true among the nations of the jinn and the men that have passed away before them. Surely they are the ones who have fallen into Loss. (25)
41/Fussilat-26: Va kealallazeena kafaroo lea tasmaoo li heazal kur’eani valgaav feehi laaallakum taagliboon(taagliboona).
And those who disbelieved said: “Do not listen to this Qur'ân, make noise therein (during its recitation), perhaps you may be victorious”. (26)
Therefore We will most certainly make those who disbelieve taste a severe torment, and We will most certainly punish them for the worst of what they used to do. (27)
41/Fussilat-28: Zealika cazeau aa’deailleahin near(nearun), lahum feehea dearul huld(huldi), cazeaan bimea keanoo bi eayeatinea yachaadoon(yachaadoona).
The punishment of the enemies of Allah is the Fire. There is for them the eternal home as a fit punishment for that they used to deny our Verses knowingly. (28)
41/Fussilat-29: Va kealallazeena kafaroo raabbanea arinallazayni adaalleanea minal cinni val insi nac’aal humea taahta aakdeaminea li yakoonea minal asfaleen(asfaleena).
And those who disbelieved said: “Our Lord, show us those who led us astray from among the jinn and the men that we trample them under our feet so that they may be of the lowest”. (29)
41/Fussilat-30: Innallazeena kealoo raabbunealleahu summastakeamoo tatanazzalu aalayhimul maleaikatu allea taheafoo va lea taahzanoo va abshiroo bil cannatillatee kuntum tooaadoon(tooaadoona).
As for those who say: “Our Lord is Allah”, then take a direction (turn to Allah and maintain the Religion), the angels descend upon them (saying): “Do not fear, nor grieve! And rejoice in the good news of heaven which you were promised”. (30)
41/Fussilat-31: Naahnu avliyeaukum feel haayeatid dunyea va feel eahirati, va lakum feehea mea tashtahee anfusukum va lakum feehea mea taddaoon(taddaoona).
We are your friends in this world and in the Hereafter. Therein is (every) thing for you what your souls desire and what you ask for. (31)
41/Fussilat-32: Nuzulan min gaafoorin raaheem(raaheemin).
As a treat (offering) from the Oft-Forgiving, the Most Merciful (Allah). (32)
41/Fussilat-33: Va man aahsanu kaavlan mimman daea ilealleahi va aamila sealihaan va keala innanee minal muslimeen(muslimeena).
And who is better in speech than he who calls to Allah and do improving deed (the soul's purification) and says: “I am surely of those who is submitted (to Allah)”? (33)
41/Fussilat-34: Va lea tastaveel haasanatu va leas sayyiah(sayyiatu), idfaa’ billatee hiya aahsanu fa izeallazee baynaka va baynahu aadeavatun ka annahu valiyyun haameem(haameemun).
And the good deed and the evil deed are not equal. Repel (evil) with what is best. Then the one whom you had enmity in between becomes as if he were a compassionate friend. (34)
41/Fussilat-35: Va mea yulaakkeahea illeallazeena saabaroo, va mea yulaakkeahea illea zoo haazzın aazeem(aazeemin).
And none are made to attain that (to be able to repel evil with what is best) but those who are patient, and the owners of Great Happiness. (35)
41/Fussilat-36: Va immea yanzagaannaka minash shayteani nazgun fastaız billeah(billeahi), innahu huvas sameeul aaleem(aaleemu).
And certainly an incitement will come to you from Satan. Then seek refuge in Allah. Surely, He is All-Hearing, All-Knowing. (36)
41/Fussilat-37: Va min eayeatihil laylu van nahearu vash shamsu val kaamar(kaamaru), lea tascudoo lish shamsi va lea lil kaamari vascudoo lilleahillazee haalaakaahunna in kuntum iyyeahu taa’budoon(taa’budoona).
And from among His Signs are the night and the day, and the sun and the moon. Do not prostrate yourselves to the sun and the moon. If you became servants to Him (Allah), prostrate yourselves to Allah Who created them. (37)
41/Fussilat-38: Fa inistakbaroo fallazeena inda raabbika yusabbihoona lahu bil layli van naheari va hum lea yas’amoon(yas’amoona).
But if they are still too proud, (they shall know that) those who are in your Lord's Presence glorify Him the night and the day, and they are never bored. (38)
41/Fussilat-39: Va min eayeatihee annaka taral aardaa heashiaatan fa izea anzalnea aalayhal meaahtazzat va rabat, innallazee aahyeahea la muhyeel mavtea, innahu aalea kulli shay’in kaadeer(kaadeerun).
And from among His Signs is that you see the earth dry. When We send down on it the water, it moves and swells. Most surely (Allah) Who gives it (earth) life is the Giver of life to the dead. Surely He is Omnipotent. (39)
41/Fussilat-40: Innallazeena yulhıdoona fee eayeatinea lea yaahfavna aalaynea, a fa man yulkea feen neari haayrun am man ya’tee eaminan yavmal kıyeamah(kıyeamati), i’maloo mea shi’tum innahu bimea taa’maloona baaseer(baaseerun).
Verily those who distort Our Verses are not hidden from Us. Are those then who are cast into the Fire better, or those who come to Us secure on the Day of Resurrection? Do what you wish; surely He is the All-Seer of what you do. (40)
Surely they denied the Reminder (the Qur'ân) when it came to them, and most surely it is a Mighty (Honorable) Book. (41)
41/Fussilat-42: Lea ya’teehil beatılu min bayni yadayhi va lea min haalfih(haalfihee), tanzeelun min haakeemin haameed(haameedin).
Falsehood cannot come to it from before and behind it. (It is) sent down by the All-Wise, the All-Praised One. (42)
41/Fussilat-43: Mea yukealu laka illea mea kaad keela lir rusuli min kaablik(kaablika), inna raabbaka la zoo maagfiratin va zoo ikeabin aleem(aleemin).
What is said to you is no different than what was said to the ones before you. Surely your Lord is the Owner of Forgiveness, and painful torment. (43)
41/Fussilat-44: Va lav caaalneahu kur’eanan aa’camiyyan la kealoo lav lea fussilat eayeatuh(eayeatuhu), a aa’camiyyun va aaraabeey(aaraabeeyyun), kul huva lillazeena eamanoo hudan va shifeaun, vallazeena lea yoo’minoona fee eazeanihim vaakrun va hoova aalayhim aamea(aaman), uleaika yuneadavna min makeanin baaeed(baaeedin).
And if We had made it (the Book) in a foreign language, they would certainly have said: “Should not its verses be explained”! A foreign language for an Arab? Say: “It is Hidayet and a Healing to those who believe (who are âmenû, who wish to reach Allah while they are alive), and there is heaviness in the ears of those who do not believe. It (the Qur'ân) is a blindness for them (not a Hidayet or Healing). They are called from a place far away. (44)
And certainly We gave a Book to Moses, but they have differed about it. If a Word had not already gone forth from your Lord, the judgment would certainly have been given between them (right away). And most surely they are the ones who are in an absolute doubt about it. (45)
41/Fussilat-46: Man aamila sealihaan fa li nafsihee va man aseaa fa aalayhea, va mea raabbuka bi zaalleamin lil aabeed(aabeedi).
Whoever does an improving deed (the soul's cleansing), it is for his own soul, and whoever does evil, it is against him. And your Lord is never tormenting to (His) servants. (46)
41/Fussilat-47: Ilayhi yuraddu ilmus seaaah(seaaati), va mea taahrucu min samareatinmin akmeamihea va mea taahmilu min unsea va lea tadaau illea bi ilmih(ilmihee), va yavma yuneadeehim ayna shurakeaee kealoo eazanneaka mea minnea min shaheed(shaheedin).
To Him is turned (belongs) the Knowledge of the Hour (Doomsday). No fruit comes out of its bloom without His Knowledge. No female conceives, nor can she give birth. On the Day when they shall be called out: “Where are My partners”? They shall say: “We declared to You, none of us is a witness”. (47)
41/Fussilat-48: Va daalla aanhum mea keanoo yad’oona min kaablu va zaannoo mea lahum min maahees(maaheesın).
And those whom they used to call upon before went away from them, and they knew that there is no place to escape for them. (48)
41/Fussilat-49: Lea yas’amul inseanu min dueail haayri va in massahush sharru fa yaoosun kaanoot(kaanootun).
Human is never tired of praying for good (asking). If an evil touches him, then he gives up all hope and is lost in despair. (49)
And if We make him taste a Mercy from Us after harm has touched him, he says: “This is mine (my right), and I do not think the Hour (of Doomsday) will come to pass. And even if I am brought back to my Lord, certainly in His presence are absolute beautiful things”. Then We will most certainly inform those who disbelieved of what they did, and We will most certainly make them taste of the terrible torment. (50)
41/Fussilat-51: Va izea an’aamnea aalal inseani aa’raadaa va naea bi ceanibih(ceanibihee), va izea massahush sharru fa zoo dueain aareed(aareedın).
And when We bestowed a blessing on man, he turned aside and moved away (from thankfulness). And when evil touches him, he prays a lot. (51)
41/Fussilat-52: Kul a raaytum in keana min indilleahi summa kafartum bihee man adaallu mimman huva fee shikeakın baaeed(baaeedin).
Say: “Have you seen? If it (Qur'ân) is from Allah’s presence and then you disbelieved in it, who is in greater Misguidance than he who is in a distant opposition”? (52)
41/Fussilat-53: Sa nureehim eayeatinea feel eafeakı va fee anfusihim haattea yatabayyana lahum annahul haakk(haakku), a va lam yakfi bi raabbika annahu aalea kulli shay’in shaheed(shaheedun).
We will show them Our Verses in the objectivity (with the eyes of our spirits) and in the subjectivity (with the hearts’ eyes of our souls), that it will become quite clear to them that this is the Truth. Is it not sufficient that your Lord is a Witness over all things? (53)
41/Fussilat-54: A lea innahum fee miryatin min likeai raabbihim, a lea innahu bi kulli shay’in muheet(muheetun).
They are surely in doubt as to reaching their Lord (they are dubious about having their spirits reach Allah while they are alive), are they not? He (Allah) encompasses all things (with His Knowledge), does not He? (54)
