Surah Al-Mujadila

Bismillaah ir rahmaan ir raheem

58/Al-Mujadila-1: Kaad samiaalleahu kaavlallatee tuceadiluka fee zavcihea va tashtakee ilaalleahi vaalleahu yasmau taheavurakumea, innalleaha samee’un baaseer(baaseerun).
Allah indeed had heard the word of her who disputed with you about her husband and made her complaint to Allah. And Allah hears your conversing with each other. Surely Allah is All-Hearing, All-Seeing. (1)
Those amongst you who turn their backs to their wives that they are not their mothers. Their mothers are only those who gave them birth. And most surely they utter a denying (hideous) and sinful word. Most surely Allah is Most-Merciful, Oft- Forgiving. (2)
58/Al-Mujadila-3: Vallazeena yuzeahiroona min niseaihim summa yaoodoona li mea kealoo fa taahreeru rakaabatin min kaabli an yatameassea, zealikum tooaazoona bih(bihee), vaalleahu bi mea taa’maloona haabeer(haabeerun).
They turn their backs to their wives then retract from what they said. In such case he should free a slave before they touch each other. This is what you are advised and Allah is All-Aware of what you do. (3)
58/Al-Mujadila-4: Fa man lam yacid fa siyeamu shahrayni mutateabiaayni min kaabli an yatameassea, fa man lam yastatı’ fa ıt’aamu sitteena miskeenea(miskeenan), zealika li too’minoo billeahi va rasoolih(rasoolihee), va tilka hudoodulleah(hudoodulleahi), va lil keafireena aazeabun aleem(aleemun).
Then whoever cannot find (a slave or concubine to set free), let him fast two consecutive months before touching (his wives). But whoever is not able (to fast), let him feed sixty needy (those who cannot work, elderly). This is because you have faith in Allah and His Messenger, and this is Allah’s limit, and there is a painful torment for the disbelievers. (4)
58/Al-Mujadila-5: Innallaziyna yuheadoonalleaha va rasoolahu kubitoo kamea kubitallazeena min kaablihim va kaad anzalnea eayeatin bayyineat(bayyineatin), va lil keafireena aazeabun muheen(muheenun).
Surely those who oppose Allah and His Messenger (Their limits) are abased as those before them were abased. And We had sent down clear Verses (proofs) and for the disbelievers is an abasing torment. (5)
58/Al-Mujadila-6: Yavma yab’aasu humulleahu cameeaan fa yunabbiuhum bi mea aamiloo, aahseahulleahu va nasooh(nasoohu), vaalleahu aalea kulli shay’in shaheed(shaheedun).
On that Day Allah will raise them all up (resurrect them). Then will inform them of what they did. Allah has counted of (recorded) what they have forgotten. Allah is a Witness over all things. (6)
58/Al-Mujadila-7: A lam tara annalleaha yaa’lamu mea fees sameaveati va mea feel aard(aardı), mea yakoonu min nacvea saleasatin illea huva reabiuhum va lea haamsatin illea huva seadisuhum va lea adnea min zealika va lea aksara illea huva ma’aahum ayna mea keanoo, summa yunabbiuhum bi mea aamiloo yavmal kıyeamah(kıyeamati), innalleaha bi kulli shay’in aaleem(aaleemun).
Have you not seen that Allah knows whatever is in the heavens and in the earth? There is no secret talk between the three but He (Allah) is the fourth of them, and nor (a talk) of five but He (Allah) is the sixth of them. And less than this or more than this wheresoever they may be but He (Allah) is with them. Later on the Day of Resurrection He will inform them of what they did. Surely Allah is All-Knowing of all things. (7)
58/Al-Mujadila-8: A lam tara ilallazeena nuhoo aaninnacvea summa yaoodoona li mea nuhoo aanhu va yataneacavna bil ismi val udveani va maa’siyatir rasool(rasooli), va izea ceaooka haayyavka bi mea lam yuhaayyika bihilleahu, va yakooloona fee anfusihim lav lea yuaazzibunealleahu bi mea nakool(nakoolu), haasbuhum cahannam(cahannamu), yaaslavnahea, fabi’sal maaseer(maaseeru).
Have you not seen those who were forbidden of secret talk? Then they return to what they are forbidden. They talk amongst each other on the topics of sin, enmity and rebellion to the Messenger. And when they came to you, they greeted you with a greeting with which Allah does not greet you. And they say amongst themselves: “If that’s the case (if he is a true prophet) should Allah not torment us for what we say”? Hell is sufficient for them. They will prop themselves against it (they will be thrown in it). How evil indeed is that destination. (8)
58/Al-Mujadila-9: Yea ayyuheallazeena eamanoo izaa taneacaytum fa lea tataneacav bil ismi val udveani va maa’siyatir rasooli va taneacav bil birri vat taakvea, vattakoolleahallazee ilayhi tuhsharoon(tuhsharoona).
O you who believe (those who believe in Allah, have faith in Him)! When you talk secretly amongst each other, do not talk on the topics of sin, enmity and rebellion to the Messenger in secrecy. Talk about Al-Birr and Taqwâ (piety). And become the owners of piety towards Allah, to Whom you shall be gathered (in His Presence). (9)
58/Al-Mujadila-10: Inna man nacvea minash shayteani li yaahzunallazeena eamanoo va laysa bi dearrihim shay’an illea bi iznilleah(iznilleahee), va aalealleahi fal yatavakkalil moo’minoon(moo’minoona).
Secret counsels (whispering conspiracies) are from Satan which is to cause those who believe (who wish to reach Allah before death) to grieve. And it cannot harm them in the least except with Allah’s Permission. Therefore the believers should put their trust in Allah. (10)
58/Al-Mujadila-11: Yea ayyuheallazeena eamanoo izea keela lakum tafassahoo feel macealisi fafsahoo yafsahılleahu lakum, va izea keelanshuzoo fanshuzoo yarfaillaahullazeena eamanoo minkum vallazeena ootool ilma daraceat(daraceatin), vaalleahu bi mea taa’maloona haabeer(haabeerun).
O you who believe (who are âmenû)! When it is said to you in assemblies: “Make room (for others to sit)”, then make room. Allah will also give you (ample) room. And when it is said: “Rise up!”, then rise up immediately. Allah increases the degrees of those of you who believe (who are âmenû, who wish to reach Allah before death), and given knowledge. And Allah is All-Aware of what you do. (11)
58/Al-Mujadila-12: Yea ayyuheallazeena eamanoo izea neacaytumur rasoola fa kaaddimoo bayna yaday nacveakum saadaakaah(saadaakaatan), zealika haayrun lakum va aathaar(aathaaru), fa in lam tacidoo fa innalleaha gaafoorun raaheem(raaheemun).
O you who believe (who wish to reach Allah before death)! When you consult the Messenger in private, then give alms before your private consultation. This is better for you and purer. But if you cannot find (alms to give), then surely Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. (12)
58/Al-Mujadila-13: A ashfaaktum an tukaaddimoo bayna yaday nacveakum saadakeat(saadakeatin), fa iz lam taf’aaloo va teabaalleahu aalaykum, fa akeemoos saaleata va eatooz zakeata va ateeoolleaha va rasoolah(rasoolahu), vaalleahu haabeerun bi mea taa’maloon(taa’maloona).
Did you fear of giving alms before your private consultation? Then when you cannot do it Allah accepted your repentance. Therefore keep up the prayer, give alms (Az-Zakât), obey Allah and His Messenger. And Allah is All-Aware of what you do. (13)
58/Al-Mujadila-14: A lam tara ilallazeena tavallav kaavman gaadıbaalleahu aalayhim, mea hum minkum va lea minhum va yaahlifoona aalal kazibi va hum yaa’lamoon(yaa’lamoona).
Have you not seen those who have turned (befriended) to people (the Jews) who have incurred the Wrath of Allah? They are neither of you nor of them (of the Jews). They knowingly swear to a lie. (14)
58/Al-Mujadila-15: A aaddaalleahu lahum aazeaban shadeedea(shadeedan), innahum seaa mea keanoo yaa’maloon(yaa’maloona).
Allah has prepared for them (the disbelievers) a severe torment. Surely what they have done is terrible. (15)
58/Al-Mujadila-16: Ittahaazoo aymeanahum cunnatan fa saaddoo aan sabeelilleahi fa lahum aazeabun muheen(muheenun).
They have taken their oaths a shield. Thus they hindered (others) from the Way of Allah. So there is an abasing (humiliating) torment for them. (16)
58/Al-Mujadila-17: Lan tugniya aanhum amvealuhum va lea avleaduhum min aalleahi shay’ea(shay’an), uleaika aasheabun near(neari), hum feehea healidoon(healidoona).
Neither their wealth nor their children shall avail them against a thing (torment) from Allah. They are the inmates of the Fire, therein they shall abide forever. (17)
58/Al-Mujadila-18: Yavma yab’aasuhumulleahu cameeaan fa yaahlifoona lahu kamea yaahlifoona lakum va yaahsaboona annahum aalea shay’in, a lea innahum humul keaziboon(keaziboona).
On that Day Allah will raise (resurrect) them up all. Then they will swear to Him as they used to swear to you. And they assume that they are upon something. Are they not surely the liars? (18)
58/Al-Mujadila-19: Istaahvaza aalayhimush shayteanu fa anseahum zikraalleah(zikraalleahi), uleaika hizbush shaytean(shayteani), alea inna hizbashshayteani humul heasiroon(heasiroona).
Satan has surrounded them, so he has made them forget Dhikr (the remembrance) of Allah. They are the party of Satan. Satan’s party, are they not surely the ones who are in Loss? (19)
58/Al-Mujadila-20: Innallazeena yuheaddoonaalleaha va rasoolahoo uleaika feel azalleen(azalleena).
Surely those who exceed the limit against Allah and His Messenger, they are in abasement. (20)
Allah has written: “I and My Messengers will most certainly be victorious”. Surely Allah is All-Strong, All- Mighty. (21)
58/Al-Mujadila-22: Lea tacidu kaavman yu’minoona billeahi val yavmil eahiri yuveaddoona man headdaalleaha va rasoolahu va lav keanoo eabeaahum va abneaahum va ihveanahum av aasheeraatahum, uleaika kataba fee kuloobihimul eemeana va ayyadahum bi roohin minhu, va yudhıluhum canneatin tacree min taahtiheal anhearu healideena feehea, raadıyaalleahu aanhum va raadoo aanhu, uleaika hizbulleah(hizbulleahi), a lea inna hizbaalleahi humul muflihoon(muflihoona).
You cannot find a people who believe in Allah and the Latter Day (reaching Allah before death) loving those who oppose Allah and His Messenger, even though they are their fathers, their sons, their siblings or their tribesman. These are they into whose hearts He (Allah) has written Faith and strengthened them with a Spirit from Himself (the spirit of the Imam of the Time who is educated in His Presence settles over their heads). And He will include them into heavens under which the rivers flow. They are the ones who will abide therein forever. Allah is Well-Pleased with them and they are well-pleased with Him (Allah). They are the Party Allah. The Party of Allah are not those surely who have attained Salvation? (22)
