And complete (perform) the pilgrimage (the Hajj) and the visit (Umrah) for Allah. But if you are prevented (because of an inevitable hindrance), (send) whatever offering (sacrifice) is easy to obtain and do not shave your heads until the offering reaches to its destination; but whoever of you is sick or has an ailment of the head (and for this reason he is obliged to shave his head before the offering arrives at the place of sacrifice), he must pay a ransom either by fasting or by almsgiving, or by offering a sacrifice. And if you are in safety, then whosoever combines the visit (Umrah) with the pilgrimage (the Hajj) must offer such offering(s) as he can afford; but he who cannot find (any offering) should fast for three days during the pilgrimage and for seven days when he returns (to his home), making ten days in all. This is for those whose family is not present (dwell) at Masjid-i Haram. And become pious (for Allah). And know that Allah is Severe in punishment. (196)
