2/Al-Baqarah-246: A lam taraa ilal malai min banee isreaeela min baa’di moosea, iz kealoo li nabiyyin lahumub’aas lanea malikan nukeatil fee sabeelilleah(sabeelilleahi), keala hal aasaytum in kutiba aalaykumul kıtealu allea tukeatil(tukeatiloo), kealoo va mea lanea allea nukeatila fee sabeelilleahi va kaad uhricnea min diyearinea va abneainea fa lammea kutiba aalayhimul kıtealu tavallav illea kaaleelan minhum vaalleahu aaleemun biz zealimeen(zealimeena).
Have you not seen the notables of the Children of Israel after Moses, when they said to a Prophet of theirs: “Raise up (appoint) for us a king, that we may fight in the Way of Allah”. He (prophet) said: “May it not be that you would not fight if fighting is ordained for you”? (Notables): “Why should we not fight in Allah’s Way while we have been compelled to abandon our homes and our children”? But when fighting was ordained for them, they turned back, except a few of them, and Allah knows the wrong-doers (tyrants). (246)
2/Al-Baqarah-247: Va keala lahum nabiyyuhum innaalleaha kaad baaasa lakum tealootamalikea(malikan), kealoo annea yakoonu lahul mulku aalaynea va naahnu ahaakku bil mulki minhu va lam yu’ta saaatan minal meal(meali), keala innaalleahastaafeahu aalaykum va zeadahu bastaatan feel ilmi val cism(cismi), vaalleahu yu’tee mulkahu man yasheau, vaalleahu veasiun aaleem(aaleemun).
And their Prophet said to them: “Surely Allah has raised Tâlût (Saul) to be a king over you”. They said: “How can he hold kingship over us while we are fitter than him for the kingdom, and he has not been given enough wealth”. (The prophet): “Verily, Allah has chosen him above you and He has increased him abundantly in knowledge and physique (strength) and Allah grants His kingdom to whom He wills”. And Allah is All-Embracing (His knowledge and Mercy includes everything), All-Knowing. (247)
2/Al-Baqarah-248: Va keala lahum nabiyyuhum inna eayata mulkihee an ya’tiyakumut teabootu feehi sakeenatun min raabbikum va baakiyyatun mimmea taraaka ealu moosea va ealu hearoona taahmiluhul maleaikah(maleaikatu), inna fee zealika la eayatan lakum in kuntum mu’mineen(mu’mineena).
And their Prophet said to them: “Surely the sign of his kingdom is, that there shall come to you the (wooden) chest in which there is tranquility (Sakînah) from your Lord and a remnant of that which the house (family) of Moses and the house of Aaron left behind, carried by the angels”. Verily, in this is a sign for you if you are indeed believers. (248)
