وَجَاوَزْنَا بِبَنِي إِسْرَآئِيلَ الْبَحْرَ فَأَتَوْاْ عَلَى قَوْمٍ يَعْكُفُونَ عَلَى أَصْنَامٍ لَّهُمْ قَالُواْ يَا مُوسَى اجْعَل لَّنَا إِلَهًا كَمَا لَهُمْ آلِهَةٌ قَالَ إِنَّكُمْ قَوْمٌ تَجْهَلُونَ ﴿١٣٨﴾
7/Al-A'raf-138: Va ceavaznea bi banee israaeelal baahraa fa atav aalea kaavmin yaa’kufoona aalea aasneamin lahum, kealoo yea mooseac’aal lanea ileahan ka mea lahum ealihatun, keala innakum kaavmun tachaloon(tachaloona).
And We made the Children of Israel to pass the sea; then they came upon a people who kept to the worship of their idols. They said: “O Moses! Make for us a god as they have their gods”. Moses said: “Surely you are a people acting ignorantly”. (138)
إِنَّ هَؤُلاء مُتَبَّرٌ مَّا هُمْ فِيهِ وَبَاطِلٌ مَّا كَانُواْ يَعْمَلُونَ ﴿١٣٩﴾
7/Al-A'raf-139: Inna heauleai mutabbarun mea hum feehi va beatılun mea keanoo yaa’maloon(yaa’maloona).
Surely they are destroyed for that which they are engaged in (their religion). And all that they are doing is in vain. (139)
قَالَ أَغَيْرَ اللّهِ أَبْغِيكُمْ إِلَهًا وَهُوَ فَضَّلَكُمْ عَلَى الْعَالَمِينَ ﴿١٤٠﴾
7/Al-A'raf-140: Keala a gaayraalleahi abgeekum ileahan va huva faaddaalakum aaleal ealameen(ealameena).
(Moses) said: “Shall I seek for you a god other than Allah while He has made you excel the worlds”? (140)
وَإِذْ أَنجَيْنَاكُم مِّنْ آلِ فِرْعَونَ يَسُومُونَكُمْ سُوَءَ الْعَذَابِ يُقَتِّلُونَ أَبْنَاءكُمْ وَيَسْتَحْيُونَ نِسَاءكُمْ وَفِي ذَلِكُم بَلاء مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ عَظِيمٌ ﴿١٤١﴾
7/Al-A'raf-141: Va iz ancayneakum min eali fir’aavna yasoomoonakum sooal aazeab(aazeabi), yukaattiloona abneaakum va yastaahyoona niseaakum va fee zealikum baleaun min raabbikum aazeem(aazeemun).
And We had rescued you from Pharaoh’s family who subjected you to severe torment, killing your sons and letting your women live. And in this there was a great trial from your Lord. (141)
وَوَاعَدْنَا مُوسَى ثَلاَثِينَ لَيْلَةً وَأَتْمَمْنَاهَا بِعَشْرٍ فَتَمَّ مِيقَاتُ رَبِّهِ أَرْبَعِينَ لَيْلَةً وَقَالَ مُوسَى لأَخِيهِ هَارُونَ اخْلُفْنِي فِي قَوْمِي وَأَصْلِحْ وَلاَ تَتَّبِعْ سَبِيلَ الْمُفْسِدِينَ ﴿١٤٢﴾
7/Al-A'raf-142: Va veaaadnea moosea saleaseena laylatan va atmamneahea bi aashrin fa tamma meekeatu raabbihee arbaaeena laylah(laylatan), va keala moosea li aaheehi hearoonaahlufnee fee kaavmee va aaslıh va lea tattabi’ sabeelal mufsideen(mufsideena).
We promised Moses thirty nights and completed them with ten. So the appointed time of his Lord was completed to forty nights. And Moses said to his brother Aaron: “Take my place among my people and amend and do not follow the way of the mischief-makers”. (142)
وَلَمَّا جَاء مُوسَى لِمِيقَاتِنَا وَكَلَّمَهُ رَبُّهُ قَالَ رَبِّ أَرِنِي أَنظُرْ إِلَيْكَ قَالَ لَن تَرَانِي وَلَكِنِ انظُرْ إِلَى الْجَبَلِ فَإِنِ اسْتَقَرَّ مَكَانَهُ فَسَوْفَ تَرَانِي فَلَمَّا تَجَلَّى رَبُّهُ لِلْجَبَلِ جَعَلَهُ دَكًّا وَخَرَّ موسَى صَعِقًا فَلَمَّا أَفَاقَ قَالَ سُبْحَانَكَ تُبْتُ إِلَيْكَ وَأَنَاْ أَوَّلُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ﴿١٤٣﴾
7/Al-A'raf-143: Va lammea ceaa moosea li meekeatinea va kallamahu raabbuhu keala raabbi arinee anzur ilayka, keala lan tareanee va laakininzur ileal cabali fa inistakaarra makeanahu fa savfa tareanee fa lammea tacallea raabbuhu lil cabali caaalahu dakkaan va haarraa moosea saaıkaan, fa lammea afaakaa keala subheanaka tubtu ilayka va ana avvalul mu’mineen (mu’mineena).
And when Moses (Mûsâ) came at Our appointed time his Lord spoke to him. (Moses) said: “My Lord! Show me (Yourself), that I may look upon You”. (Allah) said: “You can never see Me, but look at the mountain. If it can stand still in its place, then you shall see Me”. When his Lord manifested to the mountain, He made it crumble and Moses fell down unconscious. Then when recovered, he said: “Glory be to You, I turn to You in repentance and I am the first of the believers”. (143)
