Surah At-Tawbah

مَا كَانَ لِلنَّبِيِّ وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ أَن يَسْتَغْفِرُواْ لِلْمُشْرِكِينَ وَلَوْ كَانُواْ أُوْلِي قُرْبَى مِن بَعْدِ مَا تَبَيَّنَ لَهُمْ أَنَّهُمْ أَصْحَابُ الْجَحِيمِ ﴿١١٣﴾
9/At-Tawbah-113: Mea keana lin nabiyyi vallazeena eamanoo an yastaagfiroo lil mushrikeena va lav keanoo ulee kurbea min baa’di mea tabayyana lahum annahum aasheabul caaheem(caaheemi).

It is not (proper) for a Prophet and those who believe (who are âmenû) to ask for forgiveness for the associators even though they should be near relatives after it has become clear to them that they are inmates of the flaming Fire.
