Surah Al-An'am

Bismillaah ir rahmaan ir raheem

وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلنَآ إِلَى أُمَمٍ مِّن قَبْلِكَ فَأَخَذْنَاهُمْ بِالْبَأْسَاء وَالضَّرَّاء لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَضَرَّعُونَ ﴿٤٢﴾
6/Al-An'am-42: Va lakaad arsalnea ilea umamin min kaablika fa ahaazneahum bil ba’seai vad daarreai laaallahum yatadaarraaoon(yatadaarraaoona).

And certainly We sent (Messengers) to nations (communities) before you. Then We seized them with distress and affliction in order that they might implore.

And assuredly We sent apostles unto communities before thee; then We laid hold of them with adversity and distress, that haply they may humble themselves.
