Surah Al-Waqi'ah

Bismillaah ir rahmaan ir raheem

لَوْ نَشَاء لَجَعَلْنَاهُ حُطَامًا فَظَلَلْتُمْ تَفَكَّهُونَ ﴿٦٥﴾
56/Al-Waqi'ah-65: Lav nasheau la caaalneahu huteaman fa zaaltum tafakkahoon(tafakkahoona).

Imam Iskender Ali Mihr

If We willed, We would have made it a dry herb, then you would be perplexed.

Abdul Majid Daryabadi

If We willed, surely We would make it chaff, so that ye would be left wondering.

Ali Quli Qarai

If We wish, We turn it into chaff, whereat you are left stunned [saying to yourselves,]

Ali Unal

If We so willed, We would surely make it into chaff, and then you would not cease to exclaim:

Ahmed Ali

We could turn it, if We pleased, into straw; then you would rue the day,

Ahmed Raza Khan

If We will We can make it like dry trampled hay, so you would keep crying out.

Amatul Rahman Omar

If We (so) pleased We could reduce it to chaff (before it is ripe and ready to be harvested). And then you would remain lamenting and talking bitterly;

Arthur John Arberry

Did We will, We would make it broken orts, and you would remain bitterly jesting --

Hamid Aziz

If We willed, We could crumble it to powder, then would you lament,

Hilali & Khan

Were it Our Will, We could crumble it to dry pieces, and you would be regretful (or left in wonderment).

Maulana Muhammad Ali

Is it you that cause it to grow, or are We the Causer of growth?

Mohammed Habib Shakir

Were it Our Will, We could make it broken orts, and ye would be left in wonderment,

Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall

If We willed, We verily could make it chaff, then would ye cease not to exclaim:

Muhammad Sarwar

Had We wanted, We could have crushed it to bits and you would have been left to lament,

Qaribullah & Darwish

If We will, We would make it broken stubble and you would remain wondering,

Saheeh International

If We willed, We could make it [dry] debris, and you would remain in wonder,

Shah Faridul Haque

If We will We can make it like dry trampled hay, so you would keep crying out.

Talal Itani

If We will, We can turn it into rubble; then you will lament.

Wahiduddin Khan

If We so pleased, We could turn your harvest into chaff. Then you would start lamenting,

Yusuf Ali

Were it Our Will, We could crumble it to dry powder, and ye would be left in wonderment,
