Surah Al-Isra

Bismillaah ir rahmaan ir raheem

وَإِمَّا تُعْرِضَنَّ عَنْهُمُ ابْتِغَاء رَحْمَةٍ مِّن رَّبِّكَ تَرْجُوهَا فَقُل لَّهُمْ قَوْلاً مَّيْسُورًا ﴿٢٨﴾
17/Al-Isra-28: Va immea tu’ridaanna aanhumubtigeaa raahmatin min raabbika tarcoohea fa kul lahum kaavlan maysoorea(maysooran).

Imam Iskender Ali Mihr

If you turn away from the needy (being compelled to it) awaiting Mercy from your Lord which you expect, then speak to them a gentle word.

Abdul Majid Daryabadi

And if thou turnest away from them awaiting a mercy from thy Lord which thou hopest, then speak unto them a gentle speech.

And if you have to hold off from [assisting] them [for now], seeking your Lord’s mercy which you expect [in the future], speak to them gentle words.
