Surah At-Tawbah

إِنَّمَا يَعْمُرُ مَسَاجِدَ اللّهِ مَنْ آمَنَ بِاللّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الآخِرِ وَأَقَامَ الصَّلاَةَ وَآتَى الزَّكَاةَ وَلَمْ يَخْشَ إِلاَّ اللّهَ فَعَسَى أُوْلَئِكَ أَن يَكُونُواْ مِنَ الْمُهْتَدِينَ ﴿١٨﴾
9/At-Tawbah-18: Innamea yaa'muru maseacidaalleahi man eamana billeahi val yavmil eahıri va akeamas saaleata va eataz zakeata va lam yaahsha illealleaha fa aasea uleaika an yakoonoo minal muhtadeen(muhtadeena).

Imam Iskender Ali Mihr

None should build the mosques of Allah except those who believe in Allah and the latter day (to have the spirit return back to Allah before death) and keep up the prayer and pay Alms (the Zakât) and fear none but Allah. So as for these, it may be that they are of those who have attained to Guidance (Hidayet).

Abdul Majid Daryabadi

They only shall tend Allah´s mosques who believe in Allah and the Last Day and establish prayer and give the poor rate and fear none save Allah. Belike those will be of the guided ones.

Ali Quli Qarai

Only those shall maintain Allah’s mosques who believe in Allah and the Last Day, and maintain the prayer, and give the zakat, and fear no one except Allah. They, hopefully, will be among the guided.

Only he will maintain God’s houses of worship (using them for the purposes for which they are built) who believes in God and the Last Day, and establishes the Prescribed Prayer, and pays the Prescribed Purifying Alms, and stands in awe of none but God.
