Surah Ghafir

Bismillaah ir rahmaan ir raheem

قَالُوا أَوَلَمْ تَكُ تَأْتِيكُمْ رُسُلُكُم بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ قَالُوا بَلَى قَالُوا فَادْعُوا وَمَا دُعَاء الْكَافِرِينَ إِلَّا فِي ضَلَالٍ ﴿٥٠﴾
40/Ghafir-50: Kealoo a va lam taku ta’teekum rusulukum bil bayyineat(bayyineati), kealoo balea, kealoo fad’oo, va mea dueaul keafireena illea fee daaleal(daalealin).

(The keepers of hell) said: “Did not your Messengers come to you with the clear proofs”? They said: “Yes”. (The hell keepers) said: “Then you call (beg)”. The call of the disbelievers is only in Misguidance (error).

Abdul Majid Daryabadi

They will say: came there not your apostles Unto you with evidences? They will say: Yea? They will say: supplicate then yourselves. And supplication of the infidels will be but in wandering.

They will say, ‘Had not your apostles brought you manifest proofs?’ They will say, ‘Yes.’ They will say, ‘Then invoke [Him] yourselves.’ But the invocations of the faithless only go awry.

(The keepers) will say: "Did not the Messengers sent to you come to you with clear proofs (of the truth)?" They will say, "Yes, indeed." (The keepers then) will say: "Then call (as you like)!" But the call of unbelievers is bound to be in vain.

They will say: "Did not your apostles come to you with clear proofs?" They will answer: "Indeed, they did." "Then pray," will (the warders) say. But the praying of unbelievers will be all in vain.
