Surah Al-Isra

Bismillaah ir rahmaan ir raheem

وَإِذَا أَرَدْنَا أَن نُّهْلِكَ قَرْيَةً أَمَرْنَا مُتْرَفِيهَا فَفَسَقُواْ فِيهَا فَحَقَّ عَلَيْهَا الْقَوْلُ فَدَمَّرْنَاهَا تَدْمِيرًا ﴿١٦﴾
17/Al-Isra-16: Va izea aradnea an nuhlika kaaryatan amarnea mutraafeehea fa fasakoo feehea fa haakkaa aalayhal kaavlu fa dammarneahea tadmeerea(tadmeeran).

And when We wished to destroy a country, We sent Our Commandment to the notables (the rich who live in comfort, who lead a life of luxury). Yet they made mischief therein. Thus the Word (of Allah) is justified against them. So We destroyed it (the country and its people) with utter destruction.

And when We intend that We shall destroy a town We command the affluent people thereof, then they transgress therein; wherefore the word is justified on them; then We annihilate it with Utter annihilation.

And when We desire to destroy a town We command its affluent ones [to obey Allah]. But they commit transgression in it, and so the word becomes due against it, and We destroy it utterly.

In consequence, the word (of punishment) is justified against it, and so We annihilate it, reducing it to nothing.
