﴿١﴾
89/Al-Fajr-1: Val facri.
By the dawn. (1)
﴿٢﴾
89/Al-Fajr-2: Va layealin aashrın.
And by ten nights. (2)
﴿٣﴾
89/Al-Fajr-3: Vash shaf’ı val vatri.
And by the pair and the single. (3)
﴿٤﴾
89/Al-Fajr-4: Val layli izea yasr(yasri).
And (by) the night when it is about to pass away. (4)
﴿٥﴾
89/Al-Fajr-5: Hal fee zealika kaasamun li zee hicr(hicrin).
Is there not in that an oath for those who are mindful? (5)
﴿٦﴾
89/Al-Fajr-6: A lam tara kayfa faaala raabbuka bi ead(eadin).
Have you not seen what your Lord did to the people of Âd? (6)
﴿٧﴾
89/Al-Fajr-7: Irama zeatil ımeadi.
To the city of Iram with many pillars? (7)
﴿٨﴾
89/Al-Fajr-8: Allatee lam yuhlaak misluhea feel bilead(bileadi).
Nothing like it (the city of Iram) was created amongst the other cities. (8)
﴿٩﴾
89/Al-Fajr-9: Va samoodallaziyna ceaboossaahra bil veadi.
And to (the people of) Thamûd who hewed out the rocks in the valleys. (9)
89/Al-Fajr-10: Va fir aavna zeel avtead(avteadi).
And (what He did) to the Pharaoh, the owner of stakes. (10)
89/Al-Fajr-11: Allazeena taagaav feel bilead(bileadi).
That they were rampant in the cities (lands). (11)
89/Al-Fajr-12: Fa aksaroo feehal fasead(faseada).
So they increased mischief therein. (12)
89/Al-Fajr-13: Fa saabba aalayhim raabbuka savtaa aazeab(aazeabin).
Therefore your Lord whipped them the whip of torment. (13)
89/Al-Fajr-14: Inna raabbaka la bil mirsead(mirseadi).
Most surely your Lord is indeed the most Watchful. (14)
89/Al-Fajr-15: Fa ammal inseanu izea mabtaleahu raabbuhu fa akramahu va naa’aamahu fa yakoolu raabbee akraman(akramani).
And as for human, whenever his Lord tries him, then treats him with generosity and bestows blessings on him, then he says: “My Lord has honored me generously. (15)
89/Al-Fajr-16: Va ammea izea mabtaleahu fa kaadara aalayhi rızkaahu fa yakoolu raabbee aheanan(aheanani).
And but when he tries him, then gives his sustenance in a measure (straitens it), then he says: “My Lord has betrayed me”. (16)
89/Al-Fajr-17: Kallea bal lea tukrimoonal yateem(yateema).
Nay! Indeed you do not offer to the orphan. (17)
89/Al-Fajr-18: Va lea taheaddoona aalea taaeamil miskeen(miskeeni).
Nor do you encourage one another to feed the needy. (18)
89/Al-Fajr-19: Va ta’kuloonat tureasa aklan lammea(lamman).
And you eat away the inheritance, devouring with greed. (19)
89/Al-Fajr-20: Va tuhıbboonal meala hubban cammea(camman).
And you love wealth with an exceeding love. (20)
89/Al-Fajr-21: Kallea izea dukkatil aardu dakkan dakkea(dakkan).
Nay! When the earth is made to crumble into pieces and scatter. (21)
89/Al-Fajr-22: Va ceaa raabbuka val malaku saaffan saaffea(saaffan).
And when your Lord comes and the angles get into in rows. (22)
89/Al-Fajr-23: Va ceea yavmaizin bi cahannama yavmaizin yatazakkarul inseanu va annea lahuz zikrea.
And that Day (of Permission) hell had been brought near. On that Day (of Permission) human remembers (becomes mindful) and how this remembrance (being mindful) avail him? (23)

He says: “I wish I had sent forth (good deeds) in my lifetime (while I was living)”! (24)
89/Al-Fajr-25: Fa yavmaizin lea yuaazzibu aazeabahoo ahaad(ahaadun).
So on that Day of Permission none can torment like His (Allah’s) Torment. (25)
89/Al-Fajr-26: Va lea yoosiku va seakaahoo ahaad(ahaadun).
And none can bind like His binding. (26)

89/Al-Fajr-27: Yea ayyatuhean nafsul mutmaainnatu.
