سورة عبس
Surah 'Abasa
Bismillaah ir rahmaan ir raheem
عَبَسَ وَتَوَلَّى
﴿١﴾
80/'Abasa-1: AAbasa va tavallea.
He was cumbersome (frowned) and turned away (did not pay attention). (1)
أَن جَاءهُ الْأَعْمَى
﴿٢﴾
80/'Abasa-2: An ceaahul aa’mea.
(Due to) a blind man to come to him. (2)
وَمَا يُدْرِيكَ لَعَلَّهُ يَزَّكَّى
﴿٣﴾
80/'Abasa-3: Va mea yudreeka laaallahu yazzakkea.
And you cannot know that he may be cleansed. (3)
أَوْ يَذَّكَّرُ فَتَنفَعَهُ الذِّكْرَى
﴿٤﴾
80/'Abasa-4: Av yazzakkaru fa tanfaaahuz zikrea.
Or he might receive advice so that the advice might profit him. (4)
أَمَّا مَنِ اسْتَغْنَى
﴿٥﴾
80/'Abasa-5: Ammea manistaagnea.
But the one who considers himself self-sufficient (free from everything). (5)
فَأَنتَ لَهُ تَصَدَّى
﴿٦﴾
80/'Abasa-6: Fa anta lahu tasaaddea.
Yet, to him you are turned to. (6)
وَمَا عَلَيْكَ أَلَّا يَزَّكَّى
﴿٧﴾
80/'Abasa-7: Va mea aalayka allea yazzakkea.
And no blame is on you that he does not get cleansed. (7)
وَأَمَّا مَن جَاءكَ يَسْعَى
﴿٨﴾
80/'Abasa-8: Va ammea man ceaaka yas’ea.
Yet the one who comes to you running. (8)
وَهُوَ يَخْشَى
﴿٩﴾
80/'Abasa-9: Va huva yaahshea.
And he is in reverence. (9)
فَأَنتَ عَنْهُ تَلَهَّى
﴿١٠﴾
80/'Abasa-10: Fa anta aanhu talahhea.
However, you do not pay attention to him. (10)
كَلَّا إِنَّهَا تَذْكِرَةٌ
﴿١١﴾
80/'Abasa-11: Kallea innahea tazkiraah(tazkiraatun).
Nay, surely that (this Qur’an) is a Dhikr (an Advise). (11)
فَمَن شَاء ذَكَرَهُ
﴿١٢﴾
80/'Abasa-12: Fa man sheaa zakaraah(zakaraahu).
So those who will remembers (take advise from) it. (12)
فِي صُحُفٍ مُّكَرَّمَةٍ
﴿١٣﴾
80/'Abasa-13: Fee suhufin mukarraamah(mukarraamatin).
It (the Qur’an) is in Honored Pages. (13)
مَّرْفُوعَةٍ مُّطَهَّرَةٍ
﴿١٤﴾
80/'Abasa-14: Marfooaatin mutaahharaah(mutaahharaatin).
In exalted, purified (pages). (14)
بِأَيْدِي سَفَرَةٍ
﴿١٥﴾
80/'Abasa-15: Bi aydee safaraah(safaraatin).
Through the hands of ambassadors (scribes). (15)
كِرَامٍ بَرَرَةٍ
﴿١٦﴾
80/'Abasa-16: Kireamin baraaraah(baraaraatin).
(Written through the hands of) the noble truthful. (16)
قُتِلَ الْإِنسَانُ مَا أَكْفَرَهُ
﴿١٧﴾
80/'Abasa-17: Kutilal inseanu mea akfaraah(akfaraahu).
The human is ruined (ruined himself being cast out of Allah’s Mercy), how ungrateful he is! (17)
مِنْ أَيِّ شَيْءٍ خَلَقَهُ
﴿١٨﴾
80/'Abasa-18: Min ayyi shay’in haalaakaah(haalaakaahu).
From what thing did (Allah) create him? (18)
مِن نُّطْفَةٍ خَلَقَهُ فَقَدَّرَهُ
﴿١٩﴾
80/'Abasa-19: Min nutfah(nutfatin), haalaakaahu fa kaaddaraah(kaaddaraahu).
From a Nutfah (He created him a drop), then decreed to him a destiny [programmed his development (his DNA’s) and appointed to him a life time]. (19)
ثُمَّ السَّبِيلَ يَسَّرَهُ
﴿٢٠﴾
80/'Abasa-20: Summas sabeela yassaraah(yassaraahu).
Then He has made the way easy for him. (20)
ثُمَّ أَمَاتَهُ فَأَقْبَرَهُ
﴿٢١﴾
80/'Abasa-21: Summa ameatahu fa aakbaraah(aakbaraahu).
Then He caused him to die and put in grave. (21)
ثُمَّ إِذَا شَاء أَنشَرَهُ
﴿٢٢﴾
80/'Abasa-22: Summa izea sheaa ansharaah(ansharaahu).
Then when He wills, He will raise him to life again. (22)
كَلَّا لَمَّا يَقْضِ مَا أَمَرَهُ
﴿٢٣﴾
80/'Abasa-23: Kallea lammea yaakdı mea amaraah(amaraahu).
Nay; (human) has not carried out what (Allah) commanded him. (23)
فَلْيَنظُرِ الْإِنسَانُ إِلَى طَعَامِهِ
﴿٢٤﴾
80/'Abasa-24: Falyaanzuril inseanu ilea taaeamih(taaeamihee).
Then let human look at his food. (24)
أَنَّا صَبَبْنَا الْمَاء صَبًّا
﴿٢٥﴾
80/'Abasa-25: Annea saababnal meaa saabbea(saabban).
How We kept the water pouring. (25)
ثُمَّ شَقَقْنَا الْأَرْضَ شَقًّا
﴿٢٦﴾
80/'Abasa-26: Summa shakaaknal aardaa shaakkea(shaakkaan).
Then We cleaved the earth with such cleaving. (26)
فَأَنبَتْنَا فِيهَا حَبًّا
﴿٢٧﴾
80/'Abasa-27: Fa anbatnea feehea haabbea(haabban).
So We caused to grow therein grains. (27)
وَعِنَبًا وَقَضْبًا
﴿٢٨﴾
80/'Abasa-28: Va inaban va kaadbea(kaadban).
And grapes, and clover plants. (28)
وَزَيْتُونًا وَنَخْلًا
﴿٢٩﴾
80/'Abasa-29: Va zaytoonan va naahlea(naahlan).
And olives and date-palms. (29)
وَحَدَائِقَ غُلْبًا
﴿٣٠﴾
80/'Abasa-30: Va haadeaikaa gulbea(gulban).
And gardens with trees within each other (the branches are running into each other). (30)
وَفَاكِهَةً وَأَبًّا
﴿٣١﴾
80/'Abasa-31: Va feakihatan va abbea(abban).
And fruits and pasture (herbage). (31)
مَّتَاعًا لَّكُمْ وَلِأَنْعَامِكُمْ
﴿٣٢﴾
80/'Abasa-32: Mateaaan lakum va li an’eamikum.
To be a benefit for you and your animals. (32)
فَإِذَا جَاءتِ الصَّاخَّةُ
﴿٣٣﴾
80/'Abasa-33: Fa izea ceaatis saahheah(saahheatu).
But when As-Sakhkhah (the Deafening Cry) comes. (33)
يَوْمَ يَفِرُّ الْمَرْءُ مِنْ أَخِيهِ
﴿٣٤﴾
80/'Abasa-34: Yavma yafirrul mar’u min aheeh(aheehi).
That Day a man flees from his brother. (34)
وَأُمِّهِ وَأَبِيهِ
﴿٣٥﴾
80/'Abasa-35: Va ummihee va abeeh(abeehi).
And from his mother and his father. (35)
وَصَاحِبَتِهِ وَبَنِيهِ
﴿٣٦﴾
80/'Abasa-36: Va seahıbatihee va baneeh(baneehi).
And (flees) from his wife and his son. (36)
لِكُلِّ امْرِئٍ مِّنْهُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ شَأْنٌ يُغْنِيهِ
﴿٣٧﴾
80/'Abasa-37: Li kullimriin minhum yavmaizin sha’nun yugneeh(yugneehi).
For each one of them there is on that Day (of Permission) an affair which will occupy them (an affair which will be too much for them). (37)
وُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ مُّسْفِرَةٌ
﴿٣٨﴾
80/'Abasa-38: Vucoohun yavmaizin musfiraah(musfiraatun).
On that Day (of Permission) there are faces that are bright. (38)
ضَاحِكَةٌ مُّسْتَبْشِرَةٌ
﴿٣٩﴾
80/'Abasa-39: Deahıkatun mustabshiraah(mustabshiraatun).
(There are) smiling (faces) heralded with good news. (39)
وَوُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ عَلَيْهَا غَبَرَةٌ
﴿٤٠﴾
80/'Abasa-40: Va vucoohun yavmaizin aalayhea gaabaraah(gaabaraatun).
And that Day (of Permission) there are faces covered with dust. (40)
تَرْهَقُهَا قَتَرَةٌ
﴿٤١﴾
80/'Abasa-41: Tarhakuhea kaataraah(kaataraatun).
A darkness covers it. (41)
أُوْلَئِكَ هُمُ الْكَفَرَةُ الْفَجَرَةُ
﴿٤٢﴾
80/'Abasa-42: Uleaika humul kafaratul facaraah(facaraatu).
These are, they who are disbelievers, the wicked (the deviant). (42)
