Surah Al-Baqarah

Bismillaah ir rahmaan ir raheem

وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُ اتَّقِ اللّهَ أَخَذَتْهُ الْعِزَّةُ بِالإِثْمِ فَحَسْبُهُ جَهَنَّمُ وَلَبِئْسَ الْمِهَادُ ﴿٢٠٦﴾
2/Al-Baqarah-206: Va izea keela lahuttakılleaha ahaazathul izzatu bil ismi fa haasbuhu cahannam(cahannamu), va la bi’sal mihead(miheadu).

Imam Iskender Ali Mihr

And when it is said to him: “Have Takwâ (Piety) towards Allah, pride (of the soul) takes him with sin (carries it off to sin by hindering him) therefore Hell is sufficient for him, and certainly it is an evil resting-place”.

And when it said unto him: fear Allah, arrogance taketh him to sin. Enough for him is Hell: surely an ill resort!

And when he is told, ‘Be wary of Allah,’ conceit seizes him sinfully; so let hell suffice him, and it is surely an evil resting place!
