Surah Al-Anfal

Bismillaah ir rahmaan ir raheem

8/Al-Anfal-1: Yas’aloonaka aanil anfeal(anfeali), kulil anfealu lilleahi var rasool(rasooli), fattakulleaha va aaslihoo zeata baynikum va ateeoolleaha va rasoolahoo in kuntum mu’mineen(mu’mineena).
They ask you about the bounties of war. Say: “The bounties of war are for Allah and His Messenger. So have piety towards Allah and amend the matters among you! Obey Allah and His Messenger if you are believers”. (1)
8/Al-Anfal-2: Innameal mu'minoonallazeena izea zukiraalleahu vacilat kuloobuhum va izea tuliyat aalayhim eayeatuhu zeadathum eemeanan va aalea raabbihim yatavakkaloon(yatavakkaloona).
Those are the true believers whose hearts tremble when Allah is mentioned. And when Allah’s Verses are read to them, they increase them in Faith, and they put their trust in their Lord. (2)
8/Al-Anfal-3: Allazeena yukeemoonas saaleata va mimmea raazaakneahum yunfikoon(yunfikoona).
They keep up the Prayer and spend out of what We have given them as sustenance. (3)
8/Al-Anfal-4: Uleaika humul mu’minoona haakkea(haakkaan), lahum daraaceatun inda raabbihim va maagfiraatun va rızkun kareem(kareemun).
These are the true believers. For them are grades with their Lord and Forgiveness (the changing of evil deeds into merits) and an honorable sustenance. (4)
8/Al-Anfal-5: Kamea aahraacaka raabbuka min baytika bil haakkı va inna fareekaan minal mu’mineena la kearihoon(kearihoona).
(It is) just as when your Lord brought you out of your home in truth, while indeed, a party among the believers was unwilling. (5)
8/Al-Anfal-6: Yucaadiloonaka feel haakkı baa'da mea tabayyana ka annamea yuseakoona ileal mavti va hum yaanzuroon(yaanzuroona).
They dispute with you about the truth after it (the state) had become clear, as if they were being driven to death visibly. (6)
8/Al-Anfal-7: Va iz yaaıdukumulleahu ihdeat teaifatayni annahea lakum, va tavaddoona anna gaayraa zeatish shavkati takoonu lakum, va yureedulleahu an yuhıkkaal haakkaa bi kalimeatihee va yaaktaaaa deabiraal keafireen(keafireena).
And Allah was promising you one of the two parties that it should be yours. And you ask for the one not armed to be yours. And Allah wills that the truth should be realized with His Words and that He should cut off the back (the continuation of the progeny) of the disbelievers. (7)
8/Al-Anfal-8: Li yuhıkkaal haakkaa va yubtılal beatıla va lav karihal mucrimoon(mucrimoona).
That He should establish the truth and abolish falsehood, even if the sinners dislike it. (8)
When you sought help from your Lord, so He answered you. (It is) I am the one who assisted you with a thousand of the angles each behind the other in succession. (9)
8/Al-Anfal-10: Va mea caaalahulleahu illea bushrea va li taatmaainna bihee kuloobukum va mean naasru illea min indilleah(indilleahi), innaalleaha aazeezun haakeem(haakeemun).
And Allah made it (this help) only as glad tidings, and that your hearts be satisfied with it. And there is no help except from Allah (help is only from Allah). Surely, Allah is All-Mighty (the Owner of Absolute Excellence), All-Wise (the Owner of Judgment and Wisdom). (10)
8/Al-Anfal-11: Iz yugaashsheekumun nueasa amanatan minhu va yunazzilu aalaykum minas sameai meaan li yutaahhiraakum bihee va yuzhiba aankum riczash shayteani va li yaarbıtaa aalea kuloobikum va yusabbita bihil aakdeam(aakdeama).
(Remember) when He overwhelmed you with drowsiness giving security from Him. And sent down upon you water from the sky that He might purify you thereby and take away from you the whispers of Satan and that He might fortify your hearts and steady your footsteps thereby. (11)
8/Al-Anfal-12: Iz yoohee raabbuka ileal maleaikati annee maaakum fa sabbitoollazeena eamanoo, sa ulkee fee kuloobillazeena kafaroor ru'ba faadriboo favkaal aa'neakı vaadriboo minhum kulla banean(baneanin).
Your Lord had revealed to the angels: “Verily, I am with you, so keep firm those who believe (who have become âmenû, those who have wished to reach Allah). I will cast terror into the hearts of those who have disbelieved, so strike them over the necks, and strike their each fingertip”. (12)
8/Al-Anfal-13: Zealika bi annahum sheakkulleaha va rasoolahu, va man yusheakıkılleaha va rasoolahu fa innaalleaha shadeedul ıkeab(ıkeabi).
This is because they opposed Allah and His Messenger. And whoever opposes Allah and His Messenger, then Allah is Severe in requiting. (13)
8/Al-Anfal-14: Zealikum fa zookoohu va anna lil keafireena aazeaban near(neari).
This is the way, so taste it. And surely for the disbelievers is the torment of the Fire. (14)
8/Al-Anfal-15: Yea ayyuheallazeena eamanoo izea lakeetumullazeena kafaroo zaahfan fa lea tuvalloohumul adbear(adbearaa).
O you who believe (who are âmenû)! When you meet those who disbelieve, then do not turn your backs to them. (15)
8/Al-Anfal-16: Va man yuvallihim yavma izin duburaahoo illea mutahaarrifan li kıtealin av mutahaayyizan ilea fiatin fa kaad beaa bi gaadaabin minaalleahi va ma’veahu cahannam(cahannamu), va bi’sal maaseer(maaseeru).
And whoever turns his back to them on such a day, unless maneuvering for battle or intending to join a company, then he truly has incurred Wrath from Allah and his abode is Hell, and what an evil journey’s end. (16)
8/Al-Anfal-17: Fa lam taaktuloohum va leakinnaalleaha kaatalahum, va mea raamayta iz raamayta va leakinnaalleaha raamea, va li yubliyal mu’mineena minhu baleaan haasanea(haasanan), innaalleaha sameeun aaleem(aaleemun).
So you did not kill them, but it was Allah Who killed them. And you did not throw when you threw, but it was Allah Who threw. And Allah might test the believers by a fair trial from Him. Verily, Allah is All-Hearing, All-Knowing. (17)
8/Al-Anfal-18: Zealikum va annaalleaha moohinu kaydil keafireen(keafireena).
That is it, and Allah is the Weakener of the plot of the disbelievers. (18)
8/Al-Anfal-19: In tastaftihoo fa kaad ceaakumul fathu, va in tantahoo fa huva haayrun lakum, va in taoodoo naaud, va lan tugniya aankum fiatukum shay'an va lav kasurat va annaalleaha maaal mu'mineen(mu'mineena).
If you ask for a conquest, the conquest has then indeed come to you (to the army that is honorable). And if you desist (from fighting, from opposing), it will be better for you. But if you return (to the war, to denial), We (too) shall return. And your group will be of no avail to you however numerous it be. And verily Allah is with the believers. (19)
8/Al-Anfal-20: Yea ayyuheallazeena eamanoo ateeulleaha va rasoolahu va lea tavallav aanhu va antum tasmaoon(tasmaoona).
O you who believe (who are âmenû, who wish to reach Allah before death)! Obey Allah and His Messenger and do not turn back from him (the Messenger) while you hear (the Qur’ân). (20)
8/Al-Anfal-21: Va lea takoonoo kallazeena kealoo sami’nea va hum lea yasmaoon(yasmaoona).
And be not like those who say: We have heard, while they do not hear. (21)
8/Al-Anfal-22: Inna sharrad daveabbi indaalleahis summul bukmullazeena lea yaa’kıloon(yaa’kıloona).
Surely the vilest of animals (that walk on the earth) in Allah’s Sight are the deaf and the dumb, who are not mindful. (22)
And if Allah had known of any good in them (the deaf and the dumb, who are not mindful), He would have made them hear. And if He makes them hear, they would still have turned away, while they were refusing. (23)
8/Al-Anfal-24: Yea ayyuheallazeena eamanoostaceeboo lilleahi va lir rasooli izea daeakum limea yuhyeekoom, vaa'lamoo annaalleaha yahoolu baynal mar'i va kaalbihee va annahoo ilayhi tuhsharoon (tuhsharoona).
O you who believe (who wish to reach Allah)! Answer (the Call of) Allah and His Messenger when he calls you to that which gives you life. And know that Allah intervenes between the man and his heart and that to Him you shall be gathered [the spirits of you all will be gathered together in Allah and Allah shall be a Refuge (a place of return) to your spirits]. (24)
8/Al-Anfal-25: Vattakoo fitnatan lea tuseebannallazeena zaalamoo minkum heassaah (heassaatan), vaa'lamoo annaalleaha shadeedul ıkeab(ıkeabi).
And guard yourselves (be the owners of piety) against the Fitnah (affliction) which may not fall exclusively on those of you who are wrongdoers and know that Allah is Severe in punishment. (25)
8/Al-Anfal-26: Vazkuroo iz antum kaaleelun mustaad'aafoona feel aardı taheafoona an yatahaattaafakumun neasu fa eaveakum va ayyadakum bi naasrihee va raazaakaakum minat taayyibeatee laaallakum tashkuroon(tashkuroona).
And remember when you were few, deemed weak in the land, fearing that people might carry you off by force, but He sheltered you and strengthened you with His Aid and gave you of the good and clean things that you may give thanks. (26)
8/Al-Anfal-27: Yea ayyuheallazeena eamanoo lea tahoonoolleaha var rasoola va tahoonoo ameaneatikum va antum taa'lamoon(taa'lamoona).
O you who believe (who wish to reach Allah before death)! Do not betray Allah and His Messenger, and you betray knowingly your trusts too. (27)
8/Al-Anfal-28: Vaa'lamoo annamea amvealukum va avleadukum fitnatun va annaalleaha indahoo acrun aazeem(aazeemun).
And know that your possessions and your children are a test. And that surely with Allah is a Mighty Reward (Ecrun Azîm). (28)
8/Al-Anfal-29: Yea ayyuheallazeena eamanoo in tattakulleaha yac’aal lakum furkeanan va yukaffir aankum sayyieatikum va yaagfir lakum, vaalleahu zul faadlil aazeem(aazeemi).
O you who believe! If you have piety towards Allah, He gives you discernment (ability to distinguish between right and wrong) and expiates for you your sins (converts your sins into merits) and forgives you. And Allah is the Owner of the Light of great Virtue. (29)
8/Al-Anfal-30: Va iz yamkuru bikallazeena kafaroo li yusbitooka av yaaktulooka av yuhricooka va yamkuroona va yamkurulleah(yamkurulleahu), vaalleahu haayrul meakireen(meakireena).
And those who disbelieved plotted against you that they might confine you or kill you or drive you away. As they were plotting Allah too was plotting a Plan. And Allah is the Best of the plotters (responders). (30)
8/Al-Anfal-31: Va izaa tutlea aalayhim eayeatunea kealoo kaad sami'nea lav nasheau la kulnea misla heazea in heazea illea aseateerul avvaleen(avvaleena).
And when Our Verses are recited to them, they said: “We have heard indeed; If we wished we could say the like of this; this is nothing but the tales of the ancients”. (31)
8/Al-Anfal-32: Va iz kealoolleahumma in keana heazea huval haakkaa min indika fa amtir aalaynea hıcearaatan minas sameai avi'tinea bi aazeabin aleem(aleemin).
And they had said: “O Allah! If this (the Qur’ân) is indeed the truth (the Book) from You, then rain down upon us stones from the sky or bring on us the painful torment”. (32)
8/Al-Anfal-33: Va mea keanaalleahu li yuaazzibahum va anta feehim, va mea keanaalleahu muaazzibahum va hum yastaagfiroon(yastaagfiroona).
And Allah would not punish them while you were among them. Allah will not punish them (either) while yet they ask for forgiveness. (33)
8/Al-Anfal-34: Va mea lahum allea yuaazzibahumulleahu va hum yaasuddoona aanil mascidil haareami va mea keanoo avliyeaahu, in avliyeauhoo illeal muttaakoona va leakinna aksarahum lea yaa'lamoon(yaa'lamoona).
And why should not Allah torment them while they hinder from Al-Masjid-Al-Haram and they are not (Allah’s) Friends? His Friends are only the owners of piety, and but most of them do not know. (34)
8/Al-Anfal-35: Va mea keana saaleatuhum indal bayti illea mukeaan va taasdiyah(taasdiyatan), fa zookool aazeaba bimea kuntum takfuroon(takfuroona).
And their prayer before the House (of Allah) was nothing but whistling and clapping of hands. Taste then the torment because of what you used to deny. (35)
8/Al-Anfal-36: Innallazeena kafaroo yunfikoona amvealahum li yasuddoo aan sabeelilleah(sabeelilleahi), fa sa yunfikoonahea summa takoonu aalayhim haasraatan summa yuglaboon(yuglaboona), vallazeena kafaroo ilea cahannama yuhsharoon(yuhsharoona).
Surely those who disbelieve spend their wealth to hinder from the Way of Allah. So they shall spend it (their wealth), then it shall be to them an intense regret. Then they will be overcome (they will lose). And those who disbelieve will be gathered to Hell. (36)
8/Al-Anfal-37: Li yameezaalleahul haabeesa minat taayyibi va yac'aalal haabeesa baa'daahu aalea baa'dın fa yarkumahu cameeaan fa yac'aalahu fee cahannam(cahannama), uleaika humul heasiroon(heasiroona).
This is for Allah to separate the impure from the clean, and put the impure upon each other, and pile it up together, then cast it into Hell. These it is that are the losers. (37)
8/Al-Anfal-38: Kul lillazeena kafaroo in yantahoo yugfar lahum mea kaad salaf(salafa), va in yaoodoo fa kaad maadaat sunnatul avvaleen(avvaleena).
Say to those who disbelieve: “If you desist, that which is past shall be forgiven”. And if they return (to disbelief and enmity) then what happened to the ancients has already passed takes place for them (the Divine Law will be carried out for them just like it was carried out for the nations which had passed). (38)

And know that whatever you take as bounty of war, a fifth of it is for Allah and for the Messenger and for his near of kin and the orphans and the needy and the traveler, if you believe in Allah and in that which We sent down to our servant, on the day of Discernment (the Criterion between right and wrong, Furqân), and the day when the two forces met. And Allah has Power over all things. (41)

You were on the near bank of the valley (on the Madîna side) and they were on the farther side (on the Makkah side), and the caravan was in a lower place than you. And if you had an agreement, you would certainly have broken away from the appointment. But that Allah might bring about a matter (order) which was to be done, that those who perished would perish upon evidence and those who lived would live upon evidence. And most surely Allah is All-Hearing, All-Knowing. (42)

And Satan had embellished their deeds. And said: “No one of the men can overcome you this day”. And verily, I am your ally (helper). But when the two parties came in sight of each other, he turned upon his two heels, and said: “Indeed, I am disassociated from you. Surely I see what you do not see. Verily I fear Allah”. And Allah is Severe in punishment. (48)

(Their) state (the Quraish tribe that was fighting at Badr) is as the state of Pharaoh (his army) and those before them. They belied the Verses of their Lord. Therefore We destroyed them because of their sins. And We drowned the people (army) of Pharaoh. And they all became tyrants. (54)

O Prophet! Encourage the believers to battle. If there are twenty patient ones of you, they shall overcome two hundred. And if there are a hundred of you, they shall overcome a thousand of those who disbelieve, because they are a people who do not understand. (65)

Now, Allah has lightened for you, as He knew that in you is weakness. So if there are a hundred patient ones of you, they shall overcome two hundred, and if there are a thousand, they shall overcome two thousand by Allah’s Permission. And Allah is with the patient. (66)

It is not (appropriate) for a Nebî (prophet) that he should take captives unless he has fought and triumphed definitely in the land. You desire the frail goods of the world, and Allah desires the Hereafter. And Allah is All-Mighty, All-Wise. (67)

Eat then of the good, clean and lawful things, which you have gotten of booty in war. And have piety towards Allah. Surely Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. (69)

O Nebî (Prophet)! Say to those of the captives who are in your hands: “If Allah knows any good in your hearts, He will give to you better than that which has been taken away from you and He will forgive you”. And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. (70)

Verily those who believed (who wished to reach Allah before death) and emigrated and struggle on the Way of Allah with their property and their souls (lives) in the Way of Allah and those who gave shelter and helped (them), these are friends of one another. And you owe no duty of protection to them until they emigrate. But if they seek your help in religion, it is your duty to help them except against a people with whom you have a covenant (a treaty). And Allah is All-Seeing of what you do. (72)

8/Al-Anfal-73: Vallazeena kafaroo baa'duhum avliyeau baa'dın, illea taf'aaloohu takun fitnatun feel aardı va faseadun kabeer (kabeerun).
And those who disbelieve, they are the friends to each other. If you do not do it (if you do not become friends of one another) there will be in the land Fitnah and a great mischief. (73)
8/Al-Anfal-74: Vallazeena eamanoo va heacaroo va ceahadoo fee sabeelilleahi vallazeena eavav va naasaaroo uleaika humul mu'minoona haakkea(haakkean), lahum maagfiraatun va rızkun kareem(kareemun).
And those who believed (became âmenû, wished to reach Allah before death) and emigrated and struggle hard in the Way of Allah, as well as those who gave (them) shelter and helped, these are the true believers. For them is forgiveness and a generous sustenance. (74)
8/Al-Anfal-75: Vallazeena eamanoo min baa'du va heacaroo va ceahadoo maaakum fa uleaika minkum, va oolool arheami baa'duhum avlea bibaa'dın fee kiteabilleah(kiteabilleahi), innaalleaha bi kulli shay'in aaleem(aaleemun).
And those who believed (became âmenû) afterwards and emigrated and struggled hard along with you (in the Way of Allah), they are of you. But kindred by blood (relatives) are nearer to one another in the Book of Allah. Verily, Allah is the All-Knowing of everything. (75)
